so today i put everything back in the interior. it took forever. im just waiting on floor mats right now.

as for the crazy *** shift boot, love it or hate it. im putting that shag material on my glove box and door panels as well. it will be unique, and i think it will be cool.

wow. i wish i had my **** together at 16, let alone know what a 240 was.

car looks GOOD... i gotta respray my interior/exterior... thats gonna wait til warmer weather tho.

im very impressed man. that fuzzy stuff is awesome but will hold dirt/dust like a mofo and you cant clean it. just something to consider.

otherwise you are off to a great start.

ya, the shag stuff will get dirty fast. i didnt give much thought to that. i can rock it for a bit and when it is just too much, ill get some better fabric and redo it all. its not like its that hard.

i need some help on a couple things:

im putting my RUCAs on today or tomorrow, and im not sure how/when to adjust them. i mean, do i do the adjusting when they are off the car or on the car?

also, im going to have to raise my coils all the way up to even have a chance of getting out of my driveway. going to have to take the lip off to. the underbody of my car will get scraped even with a crazy angle. this is going to suck.

Haha sweet shift boot...Raise your coils and maybe try getting some boards to help you down the driveway with minimal scrape? One of my friends layed down a piece of particle board and while it didn't support the weight it did keep it from scrapping up the bottom of the car. It did however make it to where the car scraped the wood and protected the car

thats a bummer about scraping everywhere. you should be able to keep the lip though.

as far as the ruca's go, im pretty sure you can install them and then adjust them while they are on. you just need to make sure they are even the first time you put them on so they are easy to adjust without getting everything out of whack.

also, could you give me some tips on how you rolled/pulled your fenders with a metal bar? i want to do that very soon

car's lookin great man

oh ya, i remember. i take off the stock rucas and then set my new ones so that they are the same length as stock. put them on, then adjust from there.

OP, I am very, very, impressed. I am 16 too, and I jus bought a blown SOHC 90 hatch that I am still waiting to go pick up. I bought it as a learning expirence, and can't wait to start. What are your plans for the SOHC? swap?

Theres not too many 16 year old out there like you. Keep going man, I love the build. I love how you keep it clean, you can tell your mature, unlike these other 16 year olds around here.

keep in touch

lookis, just angle yourself coming outta the driveway, i scrape mine EVERY DAY coming in and out. never raise, its dishonorable.

also, just adjust the rucas to stock length while they are off the car and see where that leaves you. you SHOULD get an alignment after any susp mod....

on that line of thought, i REALLY need an alignment

i will be raising it, JUST to get out of the driveway. my driveway is crazy, it's almost as bad as a curb.

once it's out, ill just park it on the street and slam it again. my front tires haven't gotten here yet, but once the 195/50's are on, itll go even lower.

let that **** scrape man its a street car not a show car. Dont raise that **** whatever you do. Its good to see a non riced car from another 16 year old. Rattle can job came out hella good too. Im 16 too and the trick I have learned is fix the **** up and sell it, keep flippin cars untill you get to where you wanna be at. In under a year I moved from a pos s13 to a sc300 with full aero, coilovers, and some other **** . Keep up the good work.

for the paint prep, i did the following:-sand everything down with a lowis grit sandpaper (maybe 150) with an industrial electric sander-washed the car down-masked everything off with tape/newspaper-sand everything down once again with a highe grit (do this a lot)-run over everything with a tack cloth to get it super clean.-covered the whole car with a layer of paint-let it dry-sand it down again, but only t scuff it up, i think i used 500 grit-thoroughly clean it wiht tack cloth again-go over entire body a couple times with rattle can

i had no previous experience with this. at first i applying the paint, but then i got the hang of it.

i tried using clear coat, but i just screwed up. you cant see it in the pics, but there are some horizontal lines on the hood from the clear coat. also, i used semigloss paint.
