[quote=" BadMojo [Thought: Do the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche and BMW guys say "it's only a Nissan"? ;) [/quote]

Yup. Bimmer/Porsche guys more so than other owner groups.

You ask who can bust on Ferrari/Lambo guys? Anyone can, but. deservedly so? McLaren owners maybe. The porsche guys I know don't bust on Ferrari folks.

A cavalier with a whipple supercharger kit

now you're talkin. i remember reading an article on the test jbody (either cavalier or sunfire at the time) it was an auto and hit 6.5 or 6.6 0-60, the 1/4 was mid to high 14s i think. It was in an old motor trend magazine, installed on the 2.4l 4 banger (for some reason I'm thinking it was on a 95 the first time they did it)

Turns out that a cavalier here in town I suspected having a s/c cuz it just didn't sound normal, it does! then now this season the guy who owns it is on my hockey team.

Should ask him to take me for a rip around the block in it. :D

lol i use to have a cavalier and use to visit jbody sites.. first of all, theres absolutly nothing you can do to those at all, just the basic i/h/e and some dude turbo'd his cavalier on some site and ran about 5psi, in a couple of weeks he blew the headgasket or something like that, yeah well i sold that car a couple months after i got it.. now they are starting to be popular around here, people have body kits on them with loud exhausts.. what a ****ing waste of money, plus they are definte girl cars

any motor can put out reasonable power when tuned well(including cavaliars). thats why i mainly focus on chasis. i dont think i would feel safe in that cavaliar going much over 100mph. the cavaliar's chasis was not designed to handle high speeds or handle well. so i believe theres no real reason in putting alot of power in it. unless of coarse u race to the speed limit alot and dont take it to the track.

Altiman94 what in gods name would provoke you to say you would like a 3rd gen 5sp z24? i mean it is your personal opinion, but come on i can personally vouche those things are slow, my friend has one, and i have driven it, its slow, my other friends auto GT Sunfire is faster then it, and its just UGLY. I beat that thing hands down and i have a blown muffler and ****ty tires. You have no idea how many cavs think their something around here, it sad in a way, i personally think of all of them as my lil *****es. I'm sorry but the only guys that drive those around are wetbacks(and my friend is one) and chicks. I have tons more respect for the honda crowd, not only cause there imports but just because them ricers are in some weird way a little intuned with the sport compact scene. Sorry for the rant but i had to vent, anyways its your opinion not mine so no big deal i guess.

i know what you mean. the onyl cars like that, and Grand Ams and anything thats semi small that looks, well, hell, none of those cars look sporty. well anyway, the only ones who i se "fixing" up cars like that are the hardcore mexicans near my school and every wherer else. they really think a loud muffler and the same set of APC stickers will make their Grand Am with 5 people in it fast. i'm gonna start up the 2003 Rice Hunt today. we need some more pics.

Heh, do the ricer hunt. No whats even funnier, though then just a loud exhaust, a base cavalier with dual performance exhaust, absolutely NO sound out of those things....probably the most quite exhaust i've ever heard for trying to be performance.

Actually, in the J-body crowd, the RKsport duals have had great feedback as far as sound goes. The members seem to really like the sound that the make.....

as for the rest of you, your opinions are your own. I like cavaliers. Maybe I like them more for sentimental value as I learned a lot about cars from j-body.org and have been with them for awhile, so it feels like I should defend them... but whatever.

Cavaliers make the best sleepers thanks to guys like you.

Sorry... I know it sucked... But I still hate Cavaliers.... They just make me sooo mad, I can never have one pass by me without it Rev me on and then try to chirp it's wheels at 40mph. Makes me just want to chase him down and race him for all he's worth since he thinks he's so hot.

as a dreaded "crapalier owner (not by choice; exwife or 'then-wife' talked me into it; long story) i just wanted to say that not all people who drive them act like that. i know quite well and am humbled by the fact that it's slow. hella slow. cold molasses slow. kelly bundy slow. getting a new license at the dmv slow. therefore, i don't even bother. not that it means anything, but just wanted u to know that we're not all azzes. besides, it's all i got to tide me over until i get my S13!:ylsuper

Well I'm basing my opinion on the fact that all of the ones i've met. I've obviously not met you ;D so I'm not saying all of them are like that. But they are slow... even with a turbo kit they're slow... with all that modification they'll run stock for stock with a GSR... *sigh*

Yeah, a guy I know has one, he pretty dopey though, thought it'd take my car, so we found out and I think I had him by 2 car lengths. Some might run pretty close to a stock 240

The older base cavaliers(with the 2.2 OHV engine) are very slow. They would compete with a base civic(also slow). The "upscale" versions: z24 and now the ls would make a good race with a stock 240sx. Now a 2003-04 base version would be able to take a stock 240sx. It all comes down to which engine the car has... and you shouldn't hate the cars, just the drivers who are ****s..It's like saying skylines suck because all the drivers try to rev on me and act all badass....hypothetically speaking of course.. :)

Just because teenagers get a cavalier (or any POS car) from their parents or just for free somehow doesnt mean they HAVE to mod it. Its better to just use it to deliver pizza or something, save up money and buy something WORTH modding or somthing you dont need to mod to be fast.

Why would anyone buy a cavy? Its FF, low HP numbers, not much potiential when compared to other similar level cars, and just plain the ugliest cars I have ever had the misfortune of laying my eyes upon (IMHO). Why wouldnt some one just by a Honda? Better all around than a cavy.

I dont even remotely care if some BRAND NEW cavy (with only 140hp, I still got 15hp on it, it weights like 100-200lbs lighter) can beat my 11yr old S13, although I do have some minimal mods and 13K on a rebuild, It pulls VERY hard for being close to stock, so even in my case, I doubt it could beat me.

hahaha these guys are such losers/BSers. This is the best:"3 days ago, I ran against a 96 GS pushing 16PSI Turbo. He only beat me by about 1 1/2 Cars. Keep in mind Im stock!"

Also keep in mind that your rwd car loses more hp from the crank than the cavalier. So all in all, you probably have the same amount of hp to the wheels...
