Yup, I agree. We called them "chair-borne rangers"! As the cadence goes "around the desk and back again"!

BTW,..we try to salute to those guys when we're out in the field.

notaverage wrote:Suuuuree!! Cops have a very dangerous job indeed!!! ummm...BS!! Most cops whine about how "they don't know if the guy they are giving a ticket to has a gun, so thats what gives them the right to act like douchebags to everyone." How many ticket stops result in deaths for police? 189 dead in 2007, is that supposed to be impressive? Please show me how many police officers were working in 2007, and I will show you how little of a percentage that 189 deaths amount to.

I would gladly join the police force in ANY county in a heartbeat, if I didn't have a degree. It’s an easy job, and I would get paid a buttload of cash, 60k+ for driving around breaking laws and harrassing people that look like the folks I hated in high-school. Yeah, cops respond to 911 calls, and save ur a** when you need it, but thats their JOB, so don't expect kudos for doing your job as it is meant to be done. But DO expect criticism from me and everyone else when you F*** up! Do you think I get praised everytime I write a procurement spec, or design a ballistic ring for a bearing? NO!! Because thats my job, and I get paid handsomly for it. but I DO get my *** handed to me if I screw up. So what is the problem with cops getting the same treatment?? Or are you guys better than the rest of us, and no one should complain about how cops abuse their power sometimes. Should we all just praise you for having a job and getting paid for it? Here you go: “GOOD JOB GUYS!!” Does that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, is that what you wanted?

To respond to your comment about cops don't kiss my a** because I am a prick to them. that is LAUGHABLE! How do you know how I treat cops?? FYI:: I hardly EVER get pulled over, and when I do, trust me, I respect them, and answer their questions promptly and courteously, I don’t want to give them anymore reason to exploit their power. Even with THIS demeanor, I have had 2 cops be straight up A**HOLES to me cuz of the way I look (minority, young). These cops talk down to you, insult you, and speak in a condescending manner, no matter how polite you are. You don't think I'm gonna judge them, if they judge me like that?? Tell me, why should I be treated like a low class citizen if I am admitting I ran a stop sign, and willing to accept the fine and ticket?? Cops are servants for society, yet they seem to forget that.

All these cops complain about generalization, how one bad cop doesn’t mean all the force is bad. Yeah you are right!! No one should generalize like that, but how do you expect citizens to not stereotype cops, when cops racially profile! Isn’t THAT generalization?? How often does Hussain, Dr. Feelgood(Rob), and me, get “special treatment” for being minorities. I think PLENTY of times. So yeah, I will judge you guys.

Haha notaverage, this post really shows your immaturity. The reason I left a life of law behind is because of being underpaid and overworked. AND, and it's a big AND, because of people like you. I tried to stay out of this thread as much as possible because of previous threads about good cop, bad cop, but you really show your age on this one. Have you ever thought the reason they're pricks to you is because of your attitude? I'll tell you what, it's guys like you who make us the way we are. PERIOD!

And when 1/189 is one of his family members or a loved one, he'll be crying. A death is not just a statistic. That goes to show how much he values life. Oh well...

Well Shift_Altima.. I think it's pretty fair for them to do. If you can't resist street racing and you get caught.. well tough cookies. I think cops don't have to reveal who they are. People act most candidly when they don't know that anyone is watching them or ready to pounce on them. Hopefully more people pick up on this and they start using those nice VQ engines for good rather than evil. What do you think Shift_?

well i did say an alternative punishment that will make both sides happy.... ban the car from the streets, permanently kill the registration. they will get to keep the car but can't drive it on the streets. they'll still want to race so they'll just take it to the tracks. taking the car in my opinion will only make things worse. ill tell you right now that if i spent thousands of dollars on my car and the cops wanted to take it forever, theres no way in hell ill stop!!! i'll burn the car to the ground before i they can take it and go back to Libya (no speed limits lol). if a cop is going to ban my car from the streets i would stop, but take the car forever, hell no.

i mean yes i've seen dumb *** people on the road but not everyone is like that. the track near me is only open on Wednesday nights and cost $20 and it's so over packed that you barely get to race. i raced my friend out in the middle of no where in some country area and as soon as we saw head lights (about a mile or two down the road), we'd immediately stop. now how is that going to kill families? and by the way it's not something i did every day.

and as for your comment about peoples ages, my brother is 31, about to be 32 and would drift his corvette on every corner he could find, do 145 mph in the city (till his transmission started messing up) and my mom is in her late 40's and getting in the car with her scares me more then my brother! how many old men have you seen with corvettes race young people? happens all the time. age has nothing to do with it. in fact there was already another thread where some jack *** (like yourself) tried to talk **** about young people.

not average u need to realize cops do help serve an important part in our society. and yes sometimes laws can take it to far thats what appeals are for. Well i dont know the correct terms, but you can get a law removed through due process if it is deemed unconstitutional or unjust. so if u have a problem take it to ur local state reps.

Im glad alot of us still support our troops. mY friend is in iraq and apperantly they say they are fighting the forgotten war. Lets not let them think we have forgotten about them do whatev you can to help our troops, and please dont blame them for the actions our country makes they just follow the orders. blame the people in charge of this country for dumb actions.

That guy's clueless. Wonder how many jacked-up meth addicts he has to deal with at his job? Wonder if he's ever been shot at making a bearing?

Probably wouldn't last through the first 3 hours of Academy.

His 911 privileges should be revoked.

ya i totally disagree with the war and think it's wrong on so many levels BUT i have several friends that are marines and a friend in the navy and i think one of my friends was in the army or maybe air force (forgot which one). even though i feel the war is wrong, i know that they are just following orders and don't hate the troops, except for the ones that like raped the women in Iraq (which was very few cases, i'm NOT implying most people did, most people did NOT do this kind of stuff). i hate the war but not the troops, can't wait till the war is over, too much money being spent, too many people dieing for no reason. Obama claims to pull the troops out ASAP if elected......

Ladies and gentlemen, I agree with adidas on that one. Ive been through airforce training and police academy, hes 100% dead on.

All I have to say is, please dont call all of us bad cops, just call the bad cops that. Which unfortunately there are some. And please don't call all of us racist, just the bad cops that. If you dont agree then don't call 911 when your nice shiny altima gets stolen. And if you do, whether you hate us or not were still gonna show up to help you.
