its not that great. maybe I just had an old version.
Yeah, I dunno why I waited so long to install it myself. I though it would leave big spots or broken image icons where the ads were. It works so amazing.

Alright... here's the link to the recurring Sewell Caddy ad. I just got it again in the Q45 forum and I'm on my other computer.

Did you even read the suggestions in this thread? Or are you using another browser than was suggested?

Yes I read the suggestions. As I mentioned, I don't have ad issues anywhere else - and this happens to two of my computers... maybe even a third one at a different house. Also the fact that two other posters have issues with the exact same ad leads me to believe that this is an issue on NICO's end - not mine. This is not a pop-up or pop-under. It's like there's something redirecting me from the thread I'm trying to see and sending me to this ad. The ad even has a "skip ad" link with a countdown timer.

I do have Firefox, but a lot of other sites that I use for business applications have compatibility issues with it - so I usually use IE.

Is this ad different than the google one that Hitman fixed on 2/21? If it can't be fixed I'll live with it... I just don't think ads that aren't paying NICO should be slowing down my experience.

That's rediculous. Just because a few others have the same ad doesn't mean that NICO is responsible for it. If NICO was responsible for it, MOST of us would have the issue, not just a few.

That has something to do with your internet provider or some kind of spyware is in your browser. Either way, some one knows your IP address and is spamming you.

Rediculous? Where did I say NICO was responsible for it? I never said that NICO has put it there, just that some spammer has hacked our servers. Same ad in two computers and a third one at a different location with a different IP? And then the same ad on another member's computer? Guess we all just randomly picked up the same ad?

I ask again... how is the ad I'm describing different than than the one that Hitman fixed on 2/21?

These stupid Macy's ads, they are coming up almost every time I try to navigate, and they are making my computer run really slow, I would adblock them but they are freaking flash ads.

I figured it out, they are trying to screw with my computer, they are attempting to access cameras and/or microphones that are linked to my system.

They need to be reported to google, I do believe what the add is doing violates googles terms of service.

are you talking about on Nico?

I dunno about the whole "cant block flash ads" There is not a single ad or anything on my screen...even those flash ads?

It sounds a lot more like you have a virus, especially is Macy's is trying to hack your webcam....

Same for me and I have adblock. Maybe you have it configured wrong? Or maybe you aren't using FireFox...

If I right click on the flash ads, it doesnt give me the option to adblock the ad, like it does with normal images.

I let my virus scan run while I was out today and it didnt pull anything, I havnt noticed any other issues, and its only when the Macy's ad is up.

I dont have a webcam or microphone connected for it to access, its just trying to.

I am using FireFox. Im guessing I dont have adblock configured quite right as I am much more of a car geek than computer geek. Any idea what I did wrong when I initially installed the plugin, or is there a special filter you guys are using?

Let me run some reports tomorrow (it's pretty server-intensive, but Saturdays are kinda slow anyway).

Hold tight, guys - I should be able to tell if it's on our end or if someone's gotten a bug.

Download AVG 8.0.xxx. Install it in safemode with networking.

Run the updater. Thenscan the system. If there's something in there this will get it out.

The only thing I haven't had success with are boot sector viruses, and viruses that have populated so deep into the registry that trying to remove them causes a reboot! That requires a OS reinstall

AVG is faster and better then Norton and Mcafee, trendmicro, CA, etc...

No, see what you have to do is click on the adblock logo, then find the url in the list of the specific ad that's bothering you and then right click it and choose "block this item" and add it to your custom filters thing.

When you installed your adblock the first time, you should have clicked OK to a filter subscription, I betting you did not accept the subscription for some reason...

If you didn't select a subscription you're not really using adblock. It doesn't have a database to work off of to know what's an ad!

Uninstall adblock then redownload it and install it. Restart firefox. A box will pop up asking you to subscribe. Select the option for your location. USA is usually the first one. Then select ok
