And here's where you make everyone's point about the typical homeless person for them. Your homelessness was not of your doing, but the result of your parent/guardian's actions AND had someone given then $20 what would have happened?liquid_cool wrote:I was HL in oragne county man...mother loved dope..more than her kids...
I agree with bex on this one... Animals are great companions, in prison people often keep mice.. because when youve got nothing but time to kill... it helps..cellardoorv wrote:What REALLY gets me... is homeless people with dogs. I don't know if they really are homeless or not, bu god-damn your dog is skinny! Let me have it!

..Bingo!..here is someone who knows ..no addy..no job..no phone number..no job..no job..no money..no money..no food...catch 22....as for my mother...last i saw of her was at a Am/PM in riverside when she gave me 5 bucks to go get a treat...she said we were moving..then i went in..got my snack..came out..never saw her again....i was 9years old...and back then..there were no places to go..took me till age 20 to get off that ride...working odd jobs day to day till an un-named guy saw my potential as a human being....as for vets being homeless...there are more than anyone can realize...its a shame what our country has done to those men...ive seen em screeming in the dark calling there friends that arent there...some cowering in fear..afaid to be touched by anyone or even talked too...and i have seen them violent, for no reason that i knew of...every memorial day..i think of these men the most..and those who gave us freedom by fighting in WW2.LongBeachCoupe wrote:I agree with bex on this one... One summer I took a homeless man to dinner every day for 9 weeks, we built a relationship upon it, and I wont forget him or where he hangs out (5th ave and 10th st)...
Many of "us" (generic term for the 20-30s generation) take for granted things we never saw... No one thinks about how someone GOT homeless, just that they are homeless...
I am not one to speak fondly of US military, but I know many many many homeless people are vietnam veterans who came back so screwed up they couldnt get back into regular life... (40 yrs ago, they would have shoved a rifle in Nala's hands and sent him into the jungle.. what happens when they get home)
And to the youngsters who dont know any better saying "just get a job at the supermarket", it is evident you dont know how things go in an interview when you arent clean shaven and dont have a permanent address or a contact number.
Soldiers, Airmen, Sailors, and Marines are still being blown to pieces... PTSD still exists as well. It's not normally the violent outrage that is so stereotyped though.liquid_cool wrote:and those who gave us freedom by fighting in WW2.
i have plenty of fun here ..helping others with there cars..its like chocolate for me...but as for the grammer again...i could care less..you or that other guy dont pay my bills..so what you say about it is worthless to me..you all need to lighten up about grammer in the first place..and just have fun...if ya dont like the grammer and it makes things to difficult for you..read another post and mooovvvee on.NicoHiyoko wrote:I'm so impressed with your big words!liquid_cool wrote:

Atleast I wasn't. I'm actually one of those people that give homeless people money and food. I know that most of the time it isn't really helping, but I feel like I am.
Stop getting so defensive and have some fun on here dude!

PyR0NiAk wrote:The only difference a draft would cause is you'd have more people going to war that didn't volunteer to do so. The traumatization one would receive from watching a friend get blown to pieces still exists. I would link to some videos, but I'm pretty sure it would start a political debate.. There's a reason we do 'brain scans' before and after deployments to monitor for ptsd now. Having an operations MOS, I've seen what some people go through, first hand. Either way, I'm not going to argue this. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
