Damn Didderson, your $hits' coming along VERY NICELY! I wish I had a junkyard that was 19acres around here. Hell, I wish there were a junkyard around here where I could go into the yard!

All in all, great work man! And thanks for posting pictures... some peeps have a difficult time doing that.

I know man I was shocked and I still am shocked at this junkyard. Just since last time I was there they have crushed 2 240's. which has only been since september. They had a nice gold hatch sohc, which i got a piggy lip from. They had a really rare 2 tone coupe it was yellow and grey w/ a brown interior lol. sohc too. I don't remember seeing the car i got my IACV from there either so maybe thats 3 smashed. They always have a lot in stock and seem to go thru cars like hotcakes. The new arrival was an overall mint midnight blue base model w/ a sweet hatch that wc bought for 25 dolores! This time there were 2 coupes and 2 hatches we found. one of the hatches was a DE (finally!) an LE of all models. But the front seats were taken. Hatch still in good condition, just covered in powder puff girls stickers and the paint was chippin.

both coupes hat HUDs i believe. they were ballin' 2 tones. It makes me want to buy a shell from them, half of the 240s that end up there have straight frames.

lmao, i didnt even know u returned the sander, thanks though. i wanna come check out the hood in person, it looks good in pics. and yes this junkyard is phenomenal. theyre so cool they even have a website, check it outhttp://www.joesusedautoparts.com/EZPull.htmlthe pic on the home page is how big the lot is. i took some pics of the hatch i got as well as how we had to drive home for the hour and 30 minute drive. and yeah its true, theres always s13s and z31s there. the most that ive seen there was like 8 or 9 s13s. and they seem to always have rare models. remember the one we got ur hud out of tom? ****ing mint SE 2 tone with the rare interior. yeah that white hatch there is in pretty good shape still but it had betty boop stickers on it, not ppg . and we also saw a 240z there . gimme a call when ur feeling better man, take it easy

if you guys go back there before i get back in town, let me know. if you don't mind picking up a clean hatch for me, that would be awesome. but maybe when i get back, we could hit up the junk again.

Yes I definitely noticed a sound quality difference man ^ . I say go for it.We'll see how the headlight thing plays out, its too cold here right now for body work let alone laying paint.

UPDATE: A real one at that! This is my last weekend before returning to work every weekend so I made it count by changing my exhaust gaskets. I knew the one by the turbo was probably shot, and it turned out to be totally busted up. Here's a picture recap of my afternoon:

Pulling the manifold is a pain in the ayuss. It's the damn stock clips on the bolts that keep you plugging away for hours. I reccomend either pulling the turbo altogether or just having my level of patience for this job.

Just highlighting some of my polishing work and light port matching with the dremel today. Anyone who has stock manifolds knows theres casting marks all along the sides and also random sprue circles inside cyl 2 and 3. they're pretty much gone from where i could reach.BTW, if you decide to tackle this, make sure u have carb cleaner to help clear out the metal shavings as well as the carbon buildup when you're done dremeling. You don't want the shavings getting into ur turbine fins. At this pic, the gasket mating surfaces were already cleaned w/ a wire wheel on my dremel .

Turbo flange side, rough polish and gasket surface wire-wheel dremel cleaned.

Cleaned up the head-side gasket surface, again wire wheel dremel fitting. but this time the forward facing one. I have quite a collection of dremel fittings they really come in handy.

Masking off the turbo flange for wire wheeling;Cleannnnn!

steel wool and blow torched off the PB on the manifold for paint. we'll see how long the 1500* header paint lasts. Did the bolt washers too.

Man I LOVE the look of brand freakin new copper!

Daily project done, I'll post a pic of the original flange gasket in a sec. or lack there of. Overall, took me maybe 5 hrs taking my time, would have been much faster if the factory didnt put those dumb bent clips in the way of the nuts on the flange.

Woops I forgot the finished product picture!

The reason for my day of gasket changing:

It sounded like crap. Wow thats cool u can see i took this one w/ my phone to send to greeneyes txt. But whats funny is that i took a pic of the camera i used for the rest of the update, so its trippy.

i had to do the sammeee thing, but i decided to throw on a megan manifold for the he*l of it while it was out. After a few cut up knuckles/fingers later it was all finished, just to be dissatisfied with the megan manifold and do it alllllllll over again the next week and throw the stocker back on. But def a pain in the as*!

very nice tom. i would not have the patience to take the turbo and manifold off like that. did you use coper spray-a-gasket on those new gaskets?wow how could that one gasket get so worn out? i was just thinking it is kinda funny but that fake chrome paint you are using looks like something a mexican would use to try and chrome out there ride... not being racist here. just saying.but a very nice uppdate

Lol idaho, it's actually the same stuff I used for the intake side paint. It's aluminum cast style paint. 1200 degree i think maybe 1500, at that temp it doesn't matter lol.And no i didnt use copper spray a gasket, i bought ALL copper gaskets. They are pure copper. Best heat expansion and sealing properties of all metals IMO.

Derrick, that sux man I'm sorry to hear. I'm sticking with stock for as long as I can because of the increased response time. My build is centered around reducing lag and introducing long powahband. How about those stock clips holding the 13mm flange nuts on? My gawd thats what held me up so freakin long! I hate them w/ a passion, so i didnt put em back on obviously. If I hear it loosening i'll put some thread lock on em next time.

Oh yeah and just an update, drove it to class and around town today, its much perkier. It's REALLY hard to stay out of boost now on the daily throttle I have to learn to drive like a taurus driver if I wanna pay less at the pump But when you're boosting and havin fun who cares

Yeah it still does choose when it wants to run wrong lol. well said. It doesn't bother me as much tho, but i'd really like it to idle normally so i dont sound like im slowly ricer revving.I was thinking today and it might be the timing chain tensioner but I'm not sure on that one. I should just spring for another iacv but i dont feel like it since my ecu said everything was ok.

dunno. maybe when dan comes back and we go to the jdm shop in philly i'll have em look @ it.

thx 4 the reminder derrick, i'll get to that tonight on wed when i dont have class all day long lol.

my idle was a little screwy this winter. I was messing around one day and opened up my idle screw some instead of being almost shut, then lowered my Ne points with the safc and it purrs like a kitty. But im running an ssq atmospheric, not exactly sure what your set up is. All this came after the fact of checking just about everythign else, lol.

dude i'm atmospheric now too. My safc NE points are in increments of 1000. What are yours at? My decel settings are 3.5 and 4.5 for 1 and 2 respectively. I obviously have it set for the correct n60 MAF, but i heard those may be unreliable so that could b my problem.

My idle screw is all the way down. Hell, i should drive down to ur place on wed. after my class is over @ 3 lol. I'm in harrisburg at that time.
