It does have a roof rack. A roof rack that looks like it's made out of pieces of Wal-mart lawn furniture, but a rack nonetheless. And we'll agree to disagree on the skirts. I love 'em.

Edit* Back to our regularly-scheduled Datsun wagon drooling!

But Greg, turning that into a woodie wagon dropped on bags with a surfboard rack would be hella sex.

You guys think these would look good on the wagon? I'll be dropping it on Roadster springs... thoughts?

Love the wheels, not so cheery about the color against the red of the wagon, though. Speak to me of color schemes, boss.

I dunno, but somehow the wagon screams Weld Prostars to me. I like the juxtaposition of the all-american musclecar wheel on the teeny tiny little import.

Agreed, I like the wheels but that's too much red.

I'm definitely leaning towards the whitewalls...

Problem is, wide whites are freakin' PRICEY.

The ones on my Roadster were almost $700 shipped after mount and balance.

Its kind of cute! Glad to see these being cared for and appreciated. I saw one on Ratsun that was left to die in the woods, moss growing on it. Guy had quite a project on his hands.

Huh?

Whitewall tires have white rubber vulcanized to the black.

Just got home.

Yep - Yours truly is JUST retarded enough to drive a sight-unseen 43-year old Datsun 350 miles across the CA / AZ desert in May.

Here's the status:

Her name is Alice. It fits.

She is cooler than the other side of the pillow, in a quirky, oddball "WTF is that?" sort of way. All the way home, people were throwing me thumbs-up and craning their necks to get a closer look... Even driving through downtown Hollywood.

Parked it when we stopped for gas and chow, and people were wandering around it, and all were smiling. THAT just rocks.

We kept it close to the speed limit, but for about an hour, she maintained 80 with a couple bursts to 85... felt rock-solid. Super comfortable, easy to drive, and no issues whatsoever. I was pretty amazed.

Used 1/2 q of oil on the trip, and her carbs are set up WAY rich, so I now reek of raw fuel and ancient Datsun interior...

I'll be keeping everyone updated on her progress, but I already have some ideas on what I'd like to do... Stay tuned!

Is this the same 2 cars that I posted the link for last week? If so you're welcome. I knew someone on here would scoop that deal up. You should just go get one of these...

There's a company called Absolute Steel http://www.absoluterv.com/index.htm. They are located in Central AZ and they specialize in these prefab metal buildings. Get one and put it in your back yard, hell you could get one that will hold all your cars plus a couple of lifts and a paint booth. You could do ALL of your own work, and never have to take any of your restorations anywhere to get anything done.

Yeah, my HOA would LOOOVE that.

Bex and I are talking about buying a piece of property 3 miles N of the house, outside the city limits, where you can build whatever the hell you want... We intend to live in a garage once the kids move out, lol.

It'll be kick-a**. A loft upstairs with a kitchen, den, bedroom, and a bathroom. (What else do we need?) Downstairs...a bazillion bay garage with every tool you could imagine. Couple of acres outside to catch the overflow. Yay!!! Bring on the retirement!

If ever I marry, I hope to find someone with an attitude like that.

As it stands, my garage plans are bigger than my house plans.

Now that would be awesome. Even have your own track behind the house where you can do practice and runs with your buddies.
