If you think thats bad you should see my engine mounts. They have this stuff for sealing windshields on them. But seriously i have had it like this for months now without any problems. The duct tape seems to be holding fine too.

I have 2 kill switches in my car. One is factory (clutch switch) 2nd one is the fuel pump. I did this directly above the fuel pump in the hatch, Cut spliced and ran the toggle up under the carpet to under my driver's seat.

thats nothing, my motor mounts are hockey pucks right now.

but im there really is no risk of fire from them. or even just arching out and burning up the ecu.

Your telling me you extended the ground wire from your fuel pump all the way to the front of the car and back? I would love to see what volts your pump is actaully getting having the ground that long. I'm betting no more than 9-10volts. I hope you dont have any mods becouse your going to seriously eff up your motor running it like that.

No risk at all. That wire carries like .5 volts if that to the fuel pump relay. Remember a relay really doesn't need that many volts to be pulled in. Also there is really no issue with using duct tape either.

nice article but what's with all the hatred for the sr? last time i checked it was one of the best turbo engines Japan has ever made?

Is the terminal layout the same for a s13 blacktop and redtop?

plus i'm getting a little confused from step 4

4)VIn most cases the fuel pump relay wire is b/p or black with a purple stripe. Cut the wire about 6 inches from the ecm. Then connected two wires one to each end of the fuel pump relay wire.

- so the fuel pump relay wire we cut - then we solder the toggle switch inbetween the cut wire...?

yeah, cut that wire and then solder the switch to each end. i think what might be confusing you is the part where he said to solder wires onto each end of the cut wire - that's just to extend the wires so you can mount the switch somewhere else

that's all we do? solder a switch for the relay basically turning it on/off? i don't need to ground anything do i? i've only dealt with guitar electronics before...

your flipin' rock dude!!!give this man more than just a custom title!i've been looking for something like this for a while now. i would hate so much to not see my 240 when i woke up the next day. specially since it's a salvaged title and the insurance company wouldn't give me sh*t for it.page saved as!

Excellent write up! Now we need one for the starter, and the ignition, and spark. Four kill switches in all different spots and the only way you'll lose your car is to a tow truck (or a thief with a lot of time on his hands, and the comfort of knowing he has that time)

No need to ground anything. Just put a switch on the fuel pump relay wire and go!
Deadrodent wrote:Is the terminal layout the same for a s13 blacktop and redtop?
The best thing to do is follow the sr diagram and check if the wire is black with purple strip. Which I'm sure you will find to be the case.
Deadrodent wrote:- so the fuel pump relay wire we cut - then we solder the toggle switch inbetween the cut wire...?
Correct!

Also I reworded step 4 to be a little more clear. Along with the picture there should be no issue.

Nice!

Gonna do this as soon as I have a chance! If someone knows the wires for the starter et al, they should share so we can have several kill switches, all hidden!

iirc, the s13 and s14 ecu's are the same (not the same, but the pinouts are).

I have 2 switched relays in mine. One is controlled by a keyfob and the other is a keyed switch. Both in hard to find places.

ey guys i dnno what the problem is, when i hit the switch, my idle drops to like 300-400, and the car seems to be choking, if u tap the gas it will shut off, but if you ease on it, you can almost get the car going

wtf, i checked my wires, and their not connecting anywhere
