Ok, after several months of no one needing a set of springs for their Y33 Q45, there's a good bit of interest all of a sudden. This thread is for those of you that want some to get in on the order.
Description of product: Tein S-Tech springs for Y33 chassis Nissan Cima (Infiniti Q45). Spring rates: front 2.6 kgf/mm, rear 2.5 kgf/mmDrop rates: front -46 mm, rear -45 mm (roughly 2")
I have already recieved money from one person, and would like to have all orders ready by the end of next week, 1-6-2006. If I get 5 orders, I might be able to save a little on shipping, in which I'd cut the price a little. I don't make much on these anyhow, I just want to see the number of these cars in the hands of people that want to improve them grow!
My take on them is that the height is great, looks are perfect, but some speed bumps (at least the crazy ones out here) require you to creep over them, but not most of them, just every now and then. Obviously, the ride will not be as plush as stock, however, it's not bad. I rode on my stock shocks/struts for about 6 months and it wasn't that bad, but big bumps could be a little harsh. So I adjusted my driving and knew that when certain bumps were coming, I'd just slow down a bit. Duy (97Q45t) has these on his Q with a newer set of stock shocks/struts, if he sees this, he could offer his take on that ride combo.
I have since gotten a set of KYB SR Specials which I replaced my stock shocks/struts with and absolutely love it. It's firm, sporty, and real tight but it's like a bullet train on the freeway, very confidence inspiring and comfortable. Pushing the Q through the canyons of Southern Cali is a real blast in this car. The problem, is that getting these is a huge chore, but I am trying to finalize it and get several sets of them shipped over. So for now, this is a Tein Spring order only, but I am trying to get the SR Specials, that's going to be something I'll post later on.
The price for the Tein Springs is $285 shipped anywhere in continental USA (Hawaii might be a little more). The time from me placing the order to you getting your springs is roughly 2 months. The order goes to Japan, then they get loaded on a ship in a container (once there's enough orders to fill a container - probably a week or so after they get my order) then they come to the US, go through customs, I pick them up and ship them myself to you guys. They could take as little as 6 weeks or the most I've seen is about 12 weeks, so like I said, roughly 2 months.
