if you notice, they all have side skirts, i think thats to cover the steel beams that were used under the body for structural bracing

Why don't you just build a roll cage for structural support?

Structural Bracing And/or Rollcage Would Be #1 On My List...

I Wouldn't Wanna Be Caught Rolling Over In One That Didn't...

Ive wanted to do this to my car for so long but never could figure out how t go about it. I was just getting mine ready to go get painted but I'm going to hold off if your going to do this and then I might do it.

Defiantly use a roll cage for support its like killing two birds with one stone.

What would you use for the seals all the way around?

I would examine a "vert" and see what Nissan did to strengthen them and either copy or cut remove ad install on your hatch project.

Already did, but i shouldnt need as much as the vert does, because i still have the rear pillars and roof portion, so, ill just need to brace the bottom for bowing and work on twist prevention.

how about completly "boxing in" the existing frame rails under it, then weld a "x" or straight bar across the rear and front sections where it curves up in the front (lower firewall) and rear arches...thats kinda how we do regals, montes, unibodies ya know, on the lowrider side.

prolly just a roll bar, I wanna keep as much of a stock look as possible.but yeah, the roll bar will help tie in the structure, to prevent twisting
