I thought about doing itbutit neverfellthrough with the idea. Ieven went to the junk-yard and took measurements on other cars to see if I could do a possible T- top. I did find a suitable car for the T-top. If I remember correctly it was the 88 300z T-top to fit the 89 thru 94 240sx.

I likey. Shouldn't be too hard. I think a roll bar should fix the flex problem. The hardest thing to do i think would be seals and fitting the tops nicely and shut.

To answer both of your questions, they are (so far) only in Germany from what ive been able to find, as for the lip, im sure its something only offered overseas .And as for the Targa itself, i think they are like a custom factory option ... dont quote me.Papa Smurf on here was the informant on that.

Back them a german company customized a few 200SX's into targas. Just like some companies have done the same with Z's (convertibles) and other cars in the past. If go to the german 200sx forum they should be able to locate some owners if they are still around. We also have a member here from Germany, the dude with the vert.

there are companies that targa trans ams and camaros - and those cars are all done by a company that wanted to make a targa 200sx... they are in germany and I used to have pics of the bottom of those cars (they're braced)

with a rollbar with forward going side bars it shouldnt bow.

it only looks good if its got good aero and a nice stance - those german cars are puke uglysauce.

edit - if u left the center peice and did t-tops like a NX2000 - maybe even use the NX's tops - it'd be stiffer and look better. i know it wouldnt be "targa" but still/

I actually thought about using the NX top, but i really just want a targa, like Del sol, I almost got a Del sol, but cant stand FWd, so i though about this project.

ya i test drove a del sol a while back it was kinda like a go cart. lol but good luck on the project. i hope it turns out good, cause im think bout doin it in the future.. if in not mistaken some companies make a kit to put custom t-tops in cars. if u could find something like that and modify it into a targa it might make it easier. and sorry if someone already mentioned that

Yeah I like the plan man, can't wait to see how it turns out! We should have this S14 one done somewhat soon, I think it's going to be awesome! We need to meet and compare at some point!

the beems that they use for support under the car.... do they just stop the car from bowing or they also stop it from twisting torsionally?

Defiantly combat the bowing, but the twisting will need to be fixed another way.
