$7500 or more I'm guessing (don't want an exact figure because I'm afraid it would be more). But, you need to keep in mind that is not a typical figure. As stated earlier in the thread, I'm an anal bastard and everything was kind of overkill. I went with a Painless standalone, spent $150 on wire loom and over $100 on stainless allen head bolts alone. It can be done a lot cheaper I'm sure.Florida240sx wrote:Rough build price? How much was the engine transmission set?

LOL, I totally need to get you to do my swap. You sound just as anal as I am when it comes to doing things like this. $7500 for the complete swap the way you did it is not much at all, in fact, I would do it this instant if I had the space and knowledge. Sounds like you got a killer deal on the motor. Where did you get it and are there anymore in that price range?cnichols wrote:$7500 or more I'm guessing (don't want an exact figure because I'm afraid it would be more). Paid $2300 for engine, transmission, ECU, harness, driveshaft (sold the driveshaft, ECU, and harness).

Only 2???I put 6 in my car...cnichols wrote: 2) The red horns are Hella Air Horns. Since you're all aware of how puny and pathetic the stock 240 horn is, I decided to upgrade. They come with the two horns you see and a compressor. I think they're rated at 118 dB? So, needless to say, no jacka$$ on the road will be mistaken that you are blowing your horn. Nissan Motorsports has had them in their catalog for years and bring up a good point about being able to hear it over track noise in case a situation arises. I had them on my old S14 daily and loved them.
So what driveshaft did you go with?I imagine a custom built one, but am unsure. Is it one piece? What's it made of?cnichols wrote: (sold the driveshaft
Some guy in Canton, Ohio had it. The best deal I found before that was one in a junkyard out here in St. Louis for just under $3k. Haven't looked lately, so not sure what they're going for. But, the motorset is definitely one place you can save a lot of money, just don't be too cheap and buy junk.yelnatsch517 wrote:

FSTB? Front Strut Tower Brace? Yeah, I have one, just forgot about it since it kind of sits over the bayozzie! wrote: Only 2???I put 6 in my car...
And I hope you add a FTSB to the small list of things to still be put into the engine bay! (I think it would be a good idea)
Just Mild Steel (one piece from Hinson.) I've also heard Driveshaftshop.com is good to deal with.mmm240 wrote:

And WOW! I watched that video over and over again for about ten minutes!
I really hope you work closely with the Hitman and get those sites up and running!
Anything is possible for the most part....this is no exception. If you have the money and skill, it would be fairly simple actually. I thought about it, but don't want to fool with it right now. Just want a nice reliable N/A setup.yelnatsch517 wrote:I was just looking through LS1 tech's FI section and noticed that there is a new twin turbo kit for the LSx, the Gen-tt. This got me thinking. Has anyone ever done a twin turbo LSx in a 240sx before and is it even possible. From the picture of the kit, it looks like it is possible. The tt systems before stuck the turbos near the oil pan and did not use an fmic, unlike this new kit.
That is exactly what I was looking at which is why I picked this specific kit. Most other LS1 twins stick the turbos near the oil pan and don't use an fmic. Thinking of a TT LS1 in a 240sx just gets me all giddy.cnichols wrote:Anything is possible for the most part....this is no exception. If you look at the pic of my setup you can see that w/out the battery and fusebox, the turbos could go up front in the engine bay or you could drop them down in front of the front wheels if you so desired.
I would probably never consider buying that kit because it's meant to fit on a GTO. It would be far cheaper and most likely better in the end to do it yourself by flipping some shorty headers around and welding on a different flange. If you're capable of swapping the motor in, you will definitely be capable of fabbing up a turbo kit to fit it.yelnatsch517 wrote:

Yea. Prob need a lot of custom work done to get all the piping to fit nicely. Just thinking about it makes mecnichols wrote:I would probably never consider buying that kit because it's meant to fit on a GTO. I also saw the LS1 programmable ECU with custom Injector harness. Is this the one you are using?
Thanks for answering the phone the other night. I was stuck in Cincinnasty overnight because of Delta Airlines ****ty service.Former_240_S14 wrote:does that thing got a hemi????

This is the one I've got. They are supposedly going to release the software in the next month or so.

So, you suck more than me Disaster. You need to change your screen name to Disaster Dastoor by the way you turd sandwich.
http://www.streetelite.net has some more pics. Overall there is not much fabrication necessary. Beat the transmission tunnel some, cut crossmember, make custom mounts (engine and transmission).Neil wrote:I'd be very interested in seeing any custom work you had to perform to the chassis. did you have to make some absurd motor / transmission mounts? any clearance issues anywhere?
I've always wanted to do this to either my 13 or 14 and I've been waiting for more people to do it so I have some guidelines to follow. I dont want to spend $XXXX on the motorset and then figure out its more BS than anticipated to install. If I could get a stock swap done to my kouki at home for around $5k, I would be inclined to sell my 300hp S13 to do it.
Yes, did it all myself w/ limited help when putting the motor in/taking it out and a little with the fabwork.redtop91 wrote:Did you do this swap yourself? How difficult was the wiring compared to say an SR20DET into an S13? Naturally more difficult but how much more so?
