...are you joking? If you lose traction, the worst thing you can possibly do is pull the e-brake, followed in a close second by smashing the brakes.
When you lose traction, take your feet away from the brake and turn your wheels in the opposite direction of the spin. In a MT car, engage the clutch and let the engine slow you down some (the tires won't move freely, like they would in neutral). The tires will (hopefull!) catch again, and get back on track. Hitting the brakes will cause the tires to lock up and skid even farther.
Unless, of course, you're drifting.
