Yeah...that jury might just @$$ rape you...you had better hope there is a lot of people in their 20's on it...if you get old people then all they are going to see is another of those "punk kids" in his "sports car" out trying to kill people.

i skidded in a sentra accross 4 lanes in medium rain, taking a left turn at about 20 mph while gassing it ( it was THE DUMBEST thing ive ever done in a car) over a 6" curb, half the car was over the curb and i took out a little tree, threw a hub so far i never found it, bent and nearly snapped a hlaf axel, etc, had to tow the car home and tell me dad, ive gone around 1 lane turn faster then that in the dry, so doing anything excessive in the rain is dumb, especially in rwd cars, but yea, get a lawyer, it helps, a LOT, and slow down buddy, trust me

btw, im 18, with more really close calls then i got years

Just dress really nicely, be very polite, etc. And hope that you get a judge thats halfway decent. I was polite to the cop that gave me my first ticket when I was speeding like 70 in a 45, and he didn't get me for reckless. (And I was still on my permit, so he was really nice about that, didn't get me for driving w/o a license either). Hopin for the best for you man, I don't think I could be too long without takin my 240 out.

Yeah usually its a good idea to slow down in the rain my 240 gets tail happy at about 50 in the rain so when you noticed the guy was tailgating ya should have slowed down, though I probably would have done what you did. But that racing charge is definatly BS, best of luck man

2 monthes later: case closed [kinda]in my show-cause hearing, i got "6 month continuance without a finding" : so as long as i dont get pulled over within the next 6 months, itll be completly off my record :)

PS: with my insurance money i bought a MUSTANG my DREAM CAR! haha, i said my car was very valuable to me, so insurance paid $2900 for a 1989 240sx w/150,000 miles after i took out my cd player, subs, speakers, everything.

If your speeding in the rain you need to know the roads, and make damn sure that your paying attention to where the hight water spots are, and don't freak out and yank the wheel fi you do hit a high water spot, cause then your fuc*ed. Everyone on this site has speed before, in the rain or not, and eveyone has done stupid sh*t, flam all you want just for fun but don't think your better than anyone cause it happens to the best of us!!

sarcasm

Driving in the rain should be illegal period!!!@!

/sarcasm

good job on the court case. had i seen this early, i woulda said to make sure to get a jury of your peers(or as close as you can, since you're constitutionally allowed this). good luck with your next car. i'd say something stupid like "dont speed like that in the rain" or something, but then id be a complete hypocrit and i dont like that. so heres my advice, "speed all you want, just be quick on your feet and be smart when you do it"

Mustang = Dream car?

Did I hear that right?

You can probably kiss your 6 mos continuance goodbye. If you couldn't keep the 240 on the road, good freakin' luck with the Mustang, Takumi.

Just for now...it's kind of a joke, I only drive it maybe 10 miles a week at most. Not really a beater in the truest sense of the word.

In the fall I'm getting a pickup for general beater use (and hopefully to lug an SR at some point), since the 240 needs a lot of TLC I'm tooling around in the domestic iron for now.

I concur, if you were doing 50 in the rain when the speed limit is 30.. You shouldn;t be driving. Driving is a previlage not a right and people like you abuse it. Hopefully by losing your license for alittle while will knock some snese in that thick skull..

Mexor, good job of keeping it clean for so many months. Live and learn, eh?

Mustangs are just fine. It's a good FR platform. Ignore the haters.

slw240sx wrote:LOL your all gonna die in hell for driving your sports coupes like sports coupes.... and you a liar if youve never did a stop light to stoplight or sped and played racecar driver in the rain .. hell i bet alot of thes "drifters" go out in the rain to do just one thing get the car sliding, its fun if yah kill your self you kill yourself at least you died having fun right????

i know im ignorant, but hey ignorant people have the most fun and whats life with out fun, its boring...

big fukin werd to that! 20 over in the rain is nothing, the best way to learn is thru trial and error. ha drifting around a turn with people following close behind in the rain wouldn't be too smart. learn some road racing techniques and you woulda pulled that turn off like a champ.

its all about knowing your cars limits and your own skills. as long as you know those you shouldn't crash. i love driving in the rain. hella fun to drive thru a turn and swang the back a lil, then correct it back and keep driving. just know your limits...

Should have pulled the E-brake on that turn man! might have slowed you down a little at least and potentially less damage but good job with the 6 months.

ps sell the stang for another 240 hehe
