Any chance of getting some facts about this? I see alot of people interested, but not too much info as to the process. What would the approximate cost be? What is required regarding CARB and DMV? How would this happen, where would the car have to be taken to do it? I'd be for sure interested if there truly was a legal way to have a legit SR, but I've had my share of imports and the only thing I've found to work is knowing which smog shops are "friendly".

What facts do you want? Approximate cost is yet to be determined as we have yet to get to that stage of the process. Basically as far as we know, the ecu will have to be reflashed and a sticker will be applied underhood saying that the motor now in the car will have this emissions setup on it, so he won't be looking for an EGR, cause it won't be there. This will be a truly legitimate, 100% street legal SR20DET powered 240sx. no need to find a friendly smog shop, no need to worry about geting reffed.

I think what we would all like to see is your plan.1) Generate interest and support2) Start a mailing campaign3) Get financial support4) Fill out application with CARB5) Fill out Federal Applications6) Start Testing 7) etc...etc...etc No one is trying to be a jerk, we are just very interested in this subject and are eager to both participate and help in a ny way we can.Remember your post says "street legal sr20det", well lets just say that is like saying "Im a girl, come look at my topless pictures"....and all you get is a girl with a top off ...but laying down...

Meh, the cars come and go, and we hardly get to drive them, I took a 959 to santa rosa and "hit up the touge" and another time I got to rip on a Noble M12 GTO. That was the fastest street car I've ever driven.

hey i was wondering if you were available to meet up sometime because im currently enrolled in smog technician classes (finishing 2007 update in june). ive always wondered for the longest time how to get the SR smogged and i always pondered about it (i.e. adding EGR, custom fitting AIV, carbon canister, etc.) im in fairfield, so i mean if you have time to meet up one of these weekends i would definitely be interested to know more about what your doing. ive discussed this matter over and over again with other smog techs and fellow state refs. let me know whats up. thanks man.
