Thats cool that your moving to NOVA. Which part will you be moving too? I would definitely be interested in what you figure out regarding emissions when you do move up here. I got my SR passed, but it was difficult finding someone to do it (didnt pass legitimately). If you find a way to pass legally I would defininitely like to hear it.tenkawa_akito wrote:I may be wrong about the whole CoP thing. I've pretty much only worked on B13 sentras, and I remember them having distributers. I'll double check about the B15s just to be on the safe side.
Also, this is just me thinking out loud, but wasn't the big CARB issue the idle and cold start emissions? Which was really a big concern for us because the AIV system would have to be chopped up for steering column clearance.
I've seen SRs pass smog (minus AIV i assume) in the maryland area, but that's maryland emissions, not the gestapo emissions of CA. Since I'll be relocating to Northern VA soon (and consequently will be subject to NOVA emissions testing), I'm trying to do some additional research in what I need to get done to make sure my car will pass. So far, I figure an ECU reflash to help lean out on idle to compensate for the missing AIV will be the biggest factor since I kept my cat.
Your right the facts do speak for themselves did you happen to notice this is in Oregon, where smog standards are no where near as stiff as CA?

We might soon I dont know yet how thats going to work.chicos240 wrote:Oh man, I just finished my swap, and my smog was due in march...lets get this mofo going...when where and how much...also i am in marina ca...you need any test cars?its a 95s14 w a s14sr20
I'll be in Reston in Fairfax. What I'm hoping is that by keeping the cat on, and restricting the airflow by say a stock airbox might help. The airbox was something I remember reading about years ago. Similarily, someone had suggested covering your open element filter with a shirt or towel to acheive the same effect. I've got time to figure things out once I move up there, so I'll try to keep up with you on what I find.240sxdominos wrote:
