Something doesn't look right there...

There is a little bit of a gap but that definitely looks like too much. You might check some of the mounting areas and make sure it was mounted properly. Did you or the shop do a test fit prior to painting?

hmmm doesn't look like the gap is too much bigger than mine judging by my first posts pictures. Looks like the middle is sagging however. It fits perfect around the headlights so im sure the problem is just an improper contact point right in the middle there. I would take all the clips off around the top, pull the fascia up and make sure all the holes line up for the clips.

No, there was no test fitting prior to painting. I received the bumper, the painted it and on Tuesday they installed it.

I do agree that the middle is sagging just a tad and with me being OCD, I notice it big time! Aside from that, everything seems to line up perfectly. Like I said before, I'm going on vacation next Tuesday. I'm dropping off the car then and they will be shooting the paint to get it closer to the color and I will surely point out the sag. Luckily for me I haven't paid him yet. Hey Blake, can you take a close up pic like I did where the hood meets the fascia? I want to see if you have a gap too.

Thanks guys for all the compliments!

I was also pondering how the fascia would look painted all red with the exception of the grille and the bottom supports. Hey mcheddadi, can you photoshop that? just wanted to see how it would look. Thanks!

Man, you're fast! That's exactly what I was looking for except I forgot to say those little side fins need to be black also. I don't want to be a pain in the arse but do you think you can do the other pics as well so I can see how it would look from the different angles? Thanks in advance man!

Heres an idea. Open the hood. And look where the bumper touches the metal frame around the hood release? Lift up the bumper from the metal and see if the face lifts. If so maybe wedge something in between the bumper and the metal brace to keep it permanently lifted. I went and looked at mine and the gap has seals touching throughout with no real sag. I will take a pic tomorrow cause its night right now. Look at the pic below and you will see the area marked in yellow that you should try lifting.

Hey Blake, I had another question for you. Since you did your own install, I was hoping you can answer this question. Aside from the obvious clips on the top of the fascia, where are the other clips located? Is there any special trick to taking it off or putting it back on? Anything I should watch out for? how many persons are needed? etc... Thanks again man!

Im not sure of the exact amount. However this is what i remember. I stole these pics from another dudes thread since its night time here lol. Just use a screwdriver to pop off each of the clips. You can pry the screwdriver in the slot alloted and pry upwards. The middle will pop out and then you can grab it with you fingers and pull it out. If its tough use pliers to pull it out. To reinstall these just do the steps below in reverse order.

The top around the hood has 8 medium sized clips.

The middle under the bumper there are 5 large clips holding the middle splash shield to the bumper. Also holding the splash shield to the frame of the car are 4 medium sized clips. They are on the other side of the shield towards the aft of the car. You will need to remove all of these and take the radiator splash shield off. Dont have a pic, sorry. But you cant miss them.

Bottom of the bumper, on both sides, there are 3 screws. They hold the bumper to the fender splash guard. Just take them out with a phillips head screwdriver.

Ok thats going to be all the clips you need to take out.

Lastly there are 2 bolts on each side of the bumper holding it to the fender frame itself. You can locate these by going to the front wheel fender, looking at the forward plastic shroud in front of the wheel, and moving the plastic shroud out of the way by means of a screwdriver. Halfway up there will be a notch you can put you screwdriver into. Directly behind this notch is the bolt for that side holding the bumper to the frame. Remove it and the one on the other side.

If you have fog lights, now would be a good time to disconnect those. Just push in the tabs in on the clips and pull outward. It will come off.

Then you hold one side and another guy holds the other. Both of you pull out evenly and the bumper will begin to move away and off the cars frame. Be careful there is a sensor behind the bumper and it could possibly get hung up in it. Just watch out as you pull it off.

Thats pretty much it dude. Hope this helps

Ok Guys,..here are better pics of the bumper.

You can tell that the color is a little off but like I said, I'll have that fixed next week as well as the gap in the middle of the bumper.

Thanks Blake for the instructions of how to take off the bumper!

First off...Car looks great. We are all very excited and proud to see how well received these fascia's have been. We could not be happier about it.

Back on topic...Paint shops typically need the entire car to do a good color match. We actually took our blue car back to the paint shop after the first painting because we weren't happy with the way the paint matched. The first time we took it we gave them the fascia and the gas cap haha. Not nearly enough to do a proper color match but, we were stretched for time.

I don't know if you're considering this but if it were my car I would probably do something to match the nice lip on your rims.

Black fascia with silver or "brushed aluminum" accents.

Alsa makes a paint called "Ghost chrome." It is very easy to apply and when applied properly will look like brushed aluminum.

All you have to do is wipe a scotch brite pad across the surface of the primer to cause some scratches. From there spray the "Ghost Chrome" paint and the paint will highlight the scratches making it appear like brushed aluminum. That's what I had on my Titan and it looked awesome.

Just my opinion though...

I am an absolute idiot...I didn't even pay attention to the fact that you live in Long Beach. You need to go to Merzee's paint and body in Santa Fe Springs. He's the guy that painted my truck. Does really good work and he's one of the few guys that can do the brushed aluminum.

MAKE SURE HE USES PRIMER...Sometimes he tries to convince people that you don't need primer with the urethane...Trust me, you need primer with urethane.

I would photoshop it for you but my photoshop skills are pretty worthless. Email me a couple front pics of your car with the rims on it and I'll get one of my computer gurus to do...Maybe Josh, he's good at that stuff.

Hey Kyle, you should get your crew to make a replacement for that stock grille. Even though I'm going with you Fascia when you get the skirts done, I think it would be a very popular mod of the Coupes. Not going to we all want to copy each other, more that none of us like the mustache, emblem, and cheap honeycomb design. I know it's not easy but find a way mang....

PSSSt... theres a long beach in NY lol... if i were in Cali, id be coming by your offices instead of paying that very affordable 9.95 shipping!

Woah...http://alsacorp.com/products/g...e.htmthis stuff is insane... i cant find an affordable paint shop that isnt maaco in NY anyways... forget about something that needs more skill than painting a barn...

Paying for labor makes my stomach turn (id much rather barter my services for others)

What's up with you guys in NY trying to steal our city names?

Orange County, California vs. Orange County, New York?Long Beach, California vs. Long Beach, New York...

You guys really need to be more original haha.

The alsa paint is really trick stuff. I would really like to see the black and silver color combo, it's going to be interesting to see what mechadi can come up with.

I should get mine from the body shop on monday.. then again I was supposed to get it friday and didnt. I just went with black/flat black. I decided to go ahead and paint the areas that everyone else is leaving unpainted. I didnt want to take the chances that the urethane would fade or anything so i had them painted a flat black. Oh, I also tinted the top half of the headlights while the bumper was off. Cant wait to see how it turned out!
