What's the difference between a REDTOP and a BLACKTOP? I looked at afterdark.com and it shows no difference in engine related stuff, except for the valve cover. Let me know. Thanks

WELP! You just said it...no difference at all besides the color of the valve cover. Black Tops usually just have lesser miles.

EVERYTHING, they are nothing alike. The redtop uses a stainless steel block while the blacktop uses one that is made of complete carbon fiber. The Redtop uses gold pistions, while the blackone uses platinum pistons. The red one also uses a deodorant to keep the bacon smell to a minium, while the black one smells like cotton candy naturally. Oh i almost forgot the red one uses a turbo made of bubble gum, and the black one well thats made of pieces off of the titanic.

Anyway, the valve tops are different, and they're newer. If I can find a link I'll post it.

a blacktop s13 has minor ecu changes and a few odds and ends that are changed, other than that the only difference is that the blacktop is newer.

The shop doing my SR swap has done a dozen redtop S13 swaps, including into hondas.. but they cant get my blacktop S13 from Heavy Throttle to start. There is a fu*kin difference for you.

Difference is: Black tops are newer, less miles, etc BUT they were only found in 180sx's in Japan. Where as the redtops are found in 1st gen Silvias.

lol.....i love when newbies try to post facts ; ).....

so your saying the redtops only came in silvia's?

and again the main differences are the ecu, color, and plated brackets, ridges on the front of the head, and ****....new and less miles isnt true...you can have a redtop with less miles than a blacktop, cumon now, it matters how much someone drove the damn thing.....

its the same MOTOR, ecu is diff, and some accents are different

POST FACTS!?? LOL This isn't a very RARE thing here. Everyone knows blacktops are newer and GENERALLY have lesser miles. Also, blacktops were out of 180sx's..that's all I was trying to say.

And I hate it when those who live and breathe this forum make fun of others.

They should be shot for such stupidity, that really pisses me off, WTF, alright honda owners already like to steal silvia conversion kits and now putting the engine in the car. WTF???!?! ITS NOT A ****ING NISSAN, SO WHY THE HELL PUT A NISSAN ENGINE IN IT!!THem ****ING IDIOTS, THEY DESERVE TO HAVE THEIR COCKS CUT OFF AND SENT TO THEIR MOTHERS. Thats just fugging retarted, HONDAS need to stay with HONDA Motors. You know, SH*T for SH*T.

but they cant get my blacktop S13 from Heavy Throttle to start. There is a fu*kin difference for you.

The difference is acutally that they are probley such idiots they are thinking your car is a probe, or who knows, a rare-hybrid honda. Them MORONS, I hope they business fails, but it probley won't cause all gay f*ck honda owners wanting to feel like they have a real car, so they buy a SR. I sware that makes my blood boil. I hate that sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hey, at least that gives the honda pricks something to do other than taking up the rest of the few good, cheap 240's left out there.

anyway, keeps a few ricers from taking up nissans, so...good for the shop.

oh really, cause i swore you said that.....

"And I hate it when those who live and breathe this forum make fun of others."

i hate it when someone asks a question, and someone else gives an incorrect answer...if you dont know the facts, then dont post anything..its better than giving the wrong answer and impression, thats how A LOT of misinformation gets spread

I want a gravimetric drive, is that so much to ask?

Also, yes, I would have to say that http://www.nystreetraces.com is about as sad as it comes, I can't believe 240s are a "big" part of their 100 person membership.

This swap isn't shown on the Hybrid Honda page, or anywhere else for that matter.

On a side note, check out one knucklehead's kill story about his Celica vs. a 240 with an SR here. The user is RUDO R THOMAS.

I recently just sold my 90 Celica All Trac and stock for stock the Celica would take the 240 with an SR. I own an s13 coupe with SR and 90 Celica All Trac, I would definitely put my money down on the Celica All Trac hands down.

I'm not sure by how far though, but I'm sure the All Trac will still come out victorious...nothing beats the awd launch and then you'll still have to catch up to the 3sgte powered Celica.
