Ok guys (and gals), you need to go to this if you are reasonably close (within a few hours). I went to the 2001 one and it was a blast.

High Tach Motorsports is having their 4th annual Mountain Run starting this year in Cherokee, NC on July 10th. For more info, please go to http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=79503

When I went back in 2001, we met up in Atlanta at about 5am on Saturday and drove up to Brevard, NC for a departure time of 9am. This year we plan on doing the same (only we can leave a little later this year, since departure time isn't until 10:20am, and it's in Cherokee, not Brevard). If you would like to attend this, please respond!!! I would like to setup the Atlanta Caravan up there. Otherwise you can just show up in Cherokee!

There should be well over 100 cars in attendence, so don't miss out! We had over 60 cars in attendence back in 2001, and that was the very first year! Also, check out the video that will be made. Check out that link for all the info!

I'm there. I was planning on having a Knox meet and doing the same thing but this works out perfect. I know a few people are already planning on meeting in Knox and going up to Cherokee for the Mountain Runs. If enough people are coming to Knox i'll get something figured out for a hotel and whatnot.

I don't know what's going on in Cherokee. I haven't read the other thread yet. As for Knoxville, if enough people are going to be here Friday night to just chilll and party i'll get a hotel set up for everyone to stay at. I'll go ahead and start looking at some around here so i'll have an idea.

Not sure yet....I'll tell GR to get her butt in here and figure out a hotel situation for us :) I'm sure we'll just meet at the hotel if you are local.

Ok ok ok....I've been busy. Got a lot going on. Torry call me tomorrow (Friday) and I'll have 3-4 hotels to choose from and you can help me figure out what is best. (If I don't hear from you i'll just email you) Or I can just pick on my own and you guys can deal with it. :D

Another thought.....when we stop after the first part of the run we'll be at the park with the 100+ grills etc. What do you guys think about all of us getting together and getting stuff to grill out. Wouldn't be more than a couple dollars a piece to buy hamburgers/hotdogs etc and grill out up there. Or you can fend for yourself. Lemme know guys.

*note* Anyone that eats is not riding with me down the Dragon afterwards. No puke in my car. heh

Yeah...um...same here. Only people riding with me...I better know personally. If you've never been on a racetrack or mountain road with me, you *WILL* get sick...only a few exceptions.

And Aprille...I'm down with grilling out. Sounds good to me! I'll call you tonight after I get off work to work out hotel details. Ttyl :)

Cool...keep an eye on this thread. I'll post a meeting place and spot when it gets nearer. What part of town are you in? We'll probably meet in the Marietta/Kennesaw area somewhere....near I-75.

Hey fellas, i'm the originator of this whole thing. Shoot me any questions if you have any

I noticed you were talking about hotels. If you'd rather shack up closer to Cherokee, then give this place a try:Stony Creek motel # 800 926-1196

It's located in Maggie Valley which is minutes from Cherokee, and it gets a 100 rating for quality. Rooms are $75-80 a night.... oh yea and the owner of the place drives an Evo8 :)

Good to see some more interest in this cruise. The majority of the cars looks to be a Nissan crowd.

Hey HighTach...did you use to have an RX7? I went back in 2001, and I thought the guy organizing everything was an RX7 guy. I read about the first year's run on the SE-RX7 mailing list.

he sold his soul to me for a box of cracker jacks :) Yea i'm the same guy lol. The RX7 turned out to be too much car for me at my age, and too tempermental. The subaru has actually made me a much better driver because i have to keep up momentum and focus more on car balance rather than sick raw horsepower to get ahead.

.....but i do miss it at times :( :(

Um...yeah, sorry to get your hopes up....I was talkin to GR

On another note though, Clint...do you have many people who are going to want the front of the pack, besides you? I remember before when I went, me and my friend Dave (dave had the Celica GTS, I was driving a 98 SE-R at the time), but we were on the bumpers of the people in front of us. Every stop we kept sneaking a few spots closer to the front. We weren't really having fun until we were behind the NSX, which I believe was either behind you, or 2 cars behind you.

All I'm sayin is, I am claiming a spot near the front :)

bah, he's an atlanta city slicker, i live right beside the mtns so he can't keep up with my maddddd skillzzz@34333#) ;) lol

This cruise is going to be structured a little different than the one you went to EZ. The OFFICIAL cruise is going to be ~2hrs on the parkway...and we'll end at the picnic area. AFTER that, the rest of the day is up to you. YOU pick your wingmen and ride off to whatever road you please. The slow and the fast will segregate on their own and everyone will be happy :)

Soooooo, 2hrs of actual cruising, then the rest of the day to do whatever your octane-filled heart desires

So 2 hours of the Blue Ridge Pkwy, and the rest of the day at deal's gap....is what you are trying to say :)

whateva you want to do... however all the people that are going to be interviewed need to stick with myself and hightach so we can get all the desired footage. We'll mainly hit up roads 276 and 151 for that footage. In order to get all the footage we'll need some time to setup the equipment for each car. We'll let the non-HTM members go first so they can go their own way if they'd like.
