Yes indeed, James!

Wide open freeway ... mph, I envy you.

Q45s LIVE at that speed - the rest of the time they're just napping, waiting for another chance.

Topic says it all SL600

A Q would never hit that kind of speed.

I beleive 140ish is about it in a G50

Nope, a stock G50 hits 155, and I think that 161 is from James' own car with a modified ECU. No?

Heck, my wife ran ours up to 140.

140 is about all my 93 had. Keep in mind it was a 93. It had maybe another 1-4 left but that was it.

Well...I have had my car up to that speed once and it was very interesting to say the least. Almost like the Matrix driving at 160mph and then let off the gas just a little to cruise at 155mph to see what it feel like for an extended period of time (about 20 secs at most) and then let off the gas and coast back down. My car drove fine with no feeling of lift or anything like that....but the sound of the wind hitting all over the front of the car was amazing. When my car was stock I took it up to 120mph like 2 times, after I modded it I has seen the 135mph 3~4 shift many times. Now with the 4.08 that 3~4 shift is like 118mph and will limit James ability to achieve such high speeds although he sure the hell will get to 140mph a lot quicker with the 4.08.

Incidently, Dennis has said that's it's not a great idea to spend much time at that kind of speed. The tranny heats up pretty quickly.

My Y33 jumps up to 125 pretty effortlessly. Never really tried pushing it past that.

The 4.1 still has a lot up top. Even compared to the 4.5.

I seriously doubt that a reman Nissan tranny would have held up to the performance that I have demanded and received from my Level10 tranny. Then again...I can achieve those speeds in a very short time, probably 1/3 of the ET compared to a stock Q trying to reach 150mph from starting at 100mph so my time spent cruising at 150mph for 10 secs probably is about the same as a stock Q just finally reaching 150mph.

Well ... back in 1992, I sustained an indicated 145mph in my 1991 Q45 for long distances back, including being over 150mph for a considerable portion of that trip.

Story is in Infiniti Speeding thread ...

Wow! The only time I've been that fast was on my Zx6-r back in '96, it felt firmly planted, stable and solid. I only topped it out once (165 ish) but I hit 150 dozens and dozens of times. It is pretty amazing how fast things pass at that speed.

I know how that is. I just sold my bike. Whenever I would bring it up that high, scarey thoughts would start going through my head so I would back off. Most I did was 160.
