So mods you wanna help us out and show your love to the Pathy/QX4 owners? How about getting rid of the simulated wheel sticky(which I don't think is sticky worthy) and creating a new one that's got links to all the different member created walk-throughs. Pwnin Obrien has a pretty technical one on changing out LED''s out in the window switch and Qxxx4 has a few on cleaning the throttle body and replacing the in-cabin air filters. These are just 2 of the members that have helped out more people then they'll ever know.

It would be great if you could have the thread divided into sections like maintenance, upgrades and mods. And under those sections have categories like mechanical, suspension, electrical etc.

You guys seem to preach you want to contribute to our little corner of NICO, here's one way how.

Thanks!

+1 on this one, you guys dont seem to be "looking into" appointing any mods in here so at least do something productive here besides looking for people to ban for saying the wrong thing about an existing mod that doesnt even own a qx4/pathfinder

+1 for clean up, there are tons of forums that have easier navigation, help us out, at the least if we could get a audio/electronic, wheel/tire, off road, and a general thread, and maybe even model specific sub links on this board, it would really help out.

yeah i dont see why their giving us the runaround about mods....WHY. Im sure every other section has their own mod, plenty probably. Were the ones keeping the content coming in on this forums and raking in the pathy/qx4 owners from google searches. I personally have seen quite a few people join due to my threads. Is this some sort of power trip or are the big guns here at nico truly in the dark about us R50 lovers!!

While yes that would be a plus, I personally don't care what kind of car they drive, as long as they listen to our input and get the job done.

As much as I agree with what everyone is saying let's stick to the thread. Since a mod hasn't voiced their opinion we'll just have to do this ourselves as we should.

If you have posted a walkthrough or have benefitted from one please post the link in this thread. We can start compiling a list and create a new thread formatted for easy access and eventually they'll have to sticky it. And thanks for participating in furthering everyone else's knowledge with our amazing vehicles.

Here's one I did on how I use Sea Foamhttp://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread?id=439272

I used it before I bought my Q!!! Please just deposit the money in my PayPal account. Unless, of course you have a caveat that it was actually useful. In that case, I won't get anything from you.

I've got the FSM for the 2001.0 and would love to give it to a mod to UL to the NICO server but so far none has replied to the thread. Thanks for the support guys!

All good and valid comments. I have to agree with all of you.My biggest knock is the search function. There has to be a better way. What I've been doing lately is whenever a post comes up with some good information, I bookmark it in my browser. I've created a separate bookmark file for all the good links, and put them in there. At least that way I can find the stuff I want quickly.Short story: I remember when I first joined NICO, I started a post on the auto up power window thing where it drops 4 inches after reaching the top. Most of us have experienced this annoying problem. The solution is quick and easy, and was documented extremely well. Try finding that post now. Let's hope the mod reads some of this stuff and takes some time to consider our views.

I totally agree. It would be great if NICO had a proper setup like every other forums out there with a PM system and everything. But it seems like they like that 1998 retro feel.

It's funny that you mention the window safety sensor thing because I was just going over my first posts on nico looking to see if anyone posted help to my issues and there you were! On the same subject giving advice, I'll be sure to include it in the list.

Popping in here, since there's been a lot of whimpering coming from this corner of the forums...

Just kidding guys...

OK, a few things:

We're working on the Moderator thing. Be advised, I've been doing this for almost 7 years - I don't need anyone's help selecting staff, I've assembled a damn good team (45 Moderators at last count) without anyone's help, and it's not about to change. So, there'll be no polling or other such stuff. I understand there may be some who don't comprehend my reasoning for that, but you'll have to trust that I have my reasons.
fueler wrote:If you know anybody who has ever used truedelta to actually check vehicle reliability, then i will pay you $1,000,000 in cash
Go get a suitcase - I'll take that in small, unmarked bills.

I get requests for TrueDelta's data ALL the time, and it's actually used by a couple major market information clearinghouses... It's not hurting you, so don't worry about it.
Qxxx4 wrote:I have never seen the link to the FSM...OMG!!!!
Yeah. I did that. NOW who's "in the dark"?

p.s. You're welcome.

Billy - Email that to me and I'll add it to the server. And THANKS!

BTW, there's nothing "retro" about our forum software. We've used the "other" forum software, and a lot of it is junk. There's a reason the largest automotive forum on the web uses this software. Trust me, I did my research.

Anyhow, the PM issue has been discussed ad nauseum - They're no quicker than email (actually require MORE clicks) and they keep valuable tech discussions off the forums... But the suggestion is duly noted AND appreciated.

Guys, there's no question there is some good stuff going on in here, and I see the b****ing as a productive thing - It means you take some pride in your corner of the forums, and I'm down to help out with whatever needs to be done.

You guys want a tech article collection like this: http://www.240sxtech.com ?

first off, THANK you hitman for that FSM, i am browsing through the files and theres SO much helpful information in there.

as for the 240sxtech page....thats so well organized. I dont know about splitting up the forum into sections, i like to see it all at once, as im constantly on here and its not that hard to look down the list, but when it comes to classic, useful tutorials, it would be awesome to have a page like that

Wow that links has an insane amount of info. Something like that would be amazing. The FSM I uploaded is specific to the 2001.0 QX4 but I doubt there's much of a difference between that and the Pathy's.

I think the big benefit of having a PM system is really for anonymity. Certain people freak out of giving out their email or having it exposed to the world. It's also another way to keep people on the site looking at ads

so can we count on you to put this walk through reference together and keep it organized until we get our own mod?

It's certainly taken under advisement - I'm always open to persuasion.

As far as organizing a sticky or a separate tech page, I'd prefer someone here compile it, and I can have it coded... I'm about 3 weeks' behind on NICO projects right now.

thanks for the link, I saw that there were only 2 Pathy links there and I think we've got those covered. I'm sure there's a lot of crossover stuff from other vehicles but I wouldn't know where to start.

The list above has been update with a few more. again if anyone has used a "How To"that they don't see on the list please post the link here.
