I am planning on breaking it in properly. Haven't read abouut it on nasioc, but know enough about cars to do it right.
Hash, one of the upgrades for '09 was stiffer springs, wider tires and thicker/stiffer sway bars.
You know the manual break in is for liability for the company and not for the customer benefit.
Think about it. If the company told you to drive it hard... a car you never driven before... you are bound for an accident... that's a liability.
The break in period are for proper ring seal, which now in days with plateau honing doesn't take as long as the older cars.
If you drive it light, you will not get enough force on those rings into proper seal. And you will have blow by gases inside your crank for the rest of it's life. Means dark oil quicker.
Drive it hard, varying rpm, up shifting and downshifting both loads the engine differently. You will allow the cylinder pressures to push the rings into the cylinder walls making better ring and cylinder wall seal.
Better seal means less loss of moving boundary work, means more available power.
Here is what I am going to tell you.
Don't take my word for it.
Do your research.
And you will see a lot of people drive it how it's going to be driven.
Good Trade off.
