so i ran some SR20's tonight

I ran some s13 SR20 swaps tonight, some friends of mine. Here are their setups:

The hatch i was dead even from a 45 roll till about 90 mph then i pull ahead by like 1 car by 110. His shorter gearing with smaller rear tires i feel gives him the biggest advantage with keeping up with the 2.4L torque.

The coupe shocked me, we were dead even till about 90 and he pulled about 1 1/2 cars on me from 45 rollto 110. I expected a lil more out of the coupe, since hes running a bigger turbo and way more boost than me.

Im only running 11psi on my GTi-R t28. Im waiting for my buddies s13 248 cams and gonna turn up the boost to 17psi and see if these SR's can handle it!

PS: i forgot to add, i had a 170 lb passenger with me the whole time, they didnt.

I won one and lost one, but it wasnt as bad as a loss as i thought it was. I expected the coupe to have pulled more than 1 1/2 cars with a way bigger turbo and more boost than me.

damn nice car I too wonder what I can do with some sr's, a few guys in town run them, they went to gville and ran 14's, best out of the bunch was 14 flat. hmmm

your setup is pretty extensive... I'd crank to 12 or so just to keep up a bit more going 9 today myself and please do a small pull and get some wider rubber just green eyed over your rims my bad 91 ouch

I like your car. I'm also doing a KA-t with a GtiR turbo. ANd I also run an ExMag exhaust Although, your Exmag looks like the exhaust tip and muffler are about 1-2 inches lower than on my car.

Did you use different exhaust hangers than the stock ones??

hes essentially running smaller series profile tire to get even shorter gear duration. i calculated that his 4.36 gear final drive coupled with a 50 series rear tire (stock is 60) makes it close to 4.6 rear gears. what a cheater.... haha
