turn for the lol I have not owned an sr but thinking about it logically the ka is a bigger engine so its bound to create a bit more power at the same boost.... I know my t25 pulls friggin hard, and has a BIG powerband, no fall off issues up to 7000rpm limit I set... IIRC a bolt on ka will hang with a STOCK sr,with less then 200whp. trq owns

Iv got a stock redtop in a gutted out s13 with the t25 maxed out and i swear my ka at half a bar of boost feels faster. The ess arr just falls on its face untill like 3.5-4k rpms, then it starts to pull well but till then your just sitting there waitin. The ka just has that snappy torque curve. Both are fun engines to have in a light car though for sure.

that's funny you mention that, my buddy in his 06 sti thinks he can beat me. Should be a good match tho: stock 06 sti vs. ka24det @ 9psi, we both should be around 240rwhp but idk why I think I can beat him

he fried his clutch in the first yr practicing launches, that was pretty crazy so if he doesn't get me off the line, he ain't catchin me at all hehe..

what's the ka-t write up going to be on? anything specific??Or is it just a profile of someone's car?

Idk if it's just me but it seems like ka's have a different sound than the sr's. it seems like ka's have more of a rumble(truck motor?) when they are revving and sr's have sort of that "v-tec" sound. SR's have itb's right? cuz this may be why..but then again I may be wrong-4 banger's a 4 banger

My KA sounds kinda like a SR (MR manifold, straight 3" all the way back to my RSR straight through muffler), i think its mainly due to the manifold im using. What exhaust manifold style you use GREATLY effects your exhaust sound. My friend switched from a MR exhaust manifold to a Tomei tubular log style manifold and his exhaust sound changed GREATLY, sounds more like wrx....

SRs dont have ITBs (not the RWD ones anyways), only the FWD AWD pulsar gti-r came with ITBs.

my kat sounded like a f350 diesel. all my sr buddys said it was unique.

i just have those ss flex pipes for my wg dump pipe that's clamped down but it's not exactly sound proof, so my car sounds like a race car. But of course it's pretty quiet with the wg closed, i love it lol

some guys w/ those 4-2-1 split headers sort of sound like a boxer engine..sr's don't have itbs but maybe i'm thinking rb? I know itbs or a good manifold will change the sound of your engine as well. I'm not talking about exhaust just that growling sound you hear from 350z's and v-tec's
