Nifty little cap that was part of a sale on FRSport

OEM motor and transmission mounts, NGK Spark plugs, OEM water Pump and Thermostat.

Few questions: for the motor mounts are they supposed to be exactly the same or are they supposed to be opposites of each other? If you dont inderstand the question ill try to get some pics of them next to each other.

Next question, is there a specific gasket for the thermostat or do you just rtv it?

For the motor mounts, they have different bolt hole locations, so yes they are different, only one will fit each side, easy to figure out. :gapteeth:

And, there IS a thermostat gasket, but most people just use silicone, works fine.

So after almost a month of no updates.

All that it left for the motor is to put the dizzy back in, an oil filter, knock sensor, a few missing bolts for the timing chain cover and intake, and to fix the mess that the previous owner made trying to delete the egr (the manifold had an O2 sensor screwed in then some putty over that) and of course tightening everything down.which I guess i can get a pic or 2 of how far it has come along.

Over the course of the next 2 weeks i will have enough for some new coils to replace the worn out teins I have.

I am looking at the Stance GR+s. I was wondering though, are RUCAS all I need to correct any camber issues? Or do I need FUCAS, RLCAS, FLCAS?

The front coilovers will have some camber adjustability, for most people this will suffice.

The rear you will need RUCA's, the lower you go, you will also start to get positive toe in, so might as well grab some rear toe arms while you're at it.

Car is looking great!

ATM i dont have any sort of fuel management, but Its also not boosted. IDK what I am going to use though, there is still quite a bit of research I have to do.

I did some reading the other night and from what I read RUCAS for the rear camber and Inner and Outer Tie-rods to adjust the front toe. Is that right? I am by no means a guru at suspension parts.

Also I just bought my new knock sensor and the missing exhaust manifold bolt along with an uncracked dash ($150 after shipping) so my bank account took a big hit but with my hours picking up my paychecks will fill in the hole quite quickly.

Ill probably update tomorrow with some pics, the motor is pretty much a motor now and its looking good.

So I ordered a dash off of ebay the other day.

89.99 + 69 for shipping.

My dash is pretty shot and this just seemed to good to pass up.

Fedex wasn't very nice to it...

Really? 15 bucks? Advanced Auto was like 138, I figured 99 was decent.

Meh, i was halfway expecting it. It could be a lot worse, because the dash in the car right now is much worse.

Ordered my Stance GR+ coilovers and my Stance RUCAS today. The rucas are on backorder for 3 weeks though. =/

Motorwise I just need some vacuum tubes to finish the pcv and a new downpipe so I can get a new exhaust setup, then the motor can go back in.

damn dude lookin good. A friend of mine just got his 240 out of a shop after having a job like this done to it. He's so happy it's rediculous and he hasn't even installed the turbo kit yet... lol.

He did 91 240sx with origional engine fully rebuilt with 10:1 compression pistons (Good name brand just cant remember the name lol) and shaved/balanced crank and beefy rods same brand as pistons with ARP studs stage II clutch lightened flywheel lightened pully's. The guy he had build it races a 240sx in SCCA competition. At his shop we had the engine removed, torn down, put back together and now running and driving around in a week and a half lol. He had all the parts just in the shop waiting on a donor motor haha. It was epic. He has like 3 viscous rear ends with different gearing in every one of them, a spare ka, random cams, cranks, pistons, manifolds, extra transmissions, etc just laying around. He has 3 240's in the shop at any given time. It's nuts. When we were their working on the car their was always 5 of them. Mine, his, the owners race car, and his street car and his friend/co workers pignose. All the rest chuki s13 haha. Such a site to see. And his friend with the pig also has a NX2000 SCCA race car in the shop show room and he has a 66 Mustang show car he's putting together in their and a lifted BUILT Jeep Cherokee he's putting together for his son.

/rant. lol

Just sayin i know your going to love it... even before the turbo install. What kind of clutch flywheel setup are you planning on using anyway?

Sweet, I had a 66 stang a few years back actually, it was my first car and my dad and i rebuilt it all through middle school.

The 240 came with a brand new stage 2 Competition clutch and a lightlwheight flywheel, i don't remember what brand the flywheel is though.

*update*
We got the battery tray out today so we could tackle the cancer under it.

LMAO that would be the brake booster vacumn hook up... you need that connected if you plan on stopping any time soon.

And the little one you have capped off goes to the fpr if you have your evap emmisions system/butterfly valves/vacumn spyderweb behind your engine removed. And the one on the inside of the manifold runner should be capped.

Update time:

Waiting on my downpipe and rear hatch weatherstripping to come in so that it doesnt leak and so I can bolt up some new exhaust. Which BTW I am torn between the HKS Hi-power and the Apexi N-1 Dual. I've seen many videos of both but I really can't decide.

But really aside from those things, the engine bay needs to be rpainted and my coils need to be installed, then it should be good to go.

The time is near.

I am just waiting on my Test Pipe, Apexi exhaust and Stance Rucas and I will have all of my parts.

We painted the engine bay today though, and the motor will be going back in the first weekend of december.

Of course after all is said and done, I was rounding the cans of paint up an realized out of the 5 we picked up one of them was Flat Blck and the rest were Semi-gloss :slap: Its only noticable in person but one half of the bay is flat and the other half isn't. Oh well.

And here is the trunk, I only painted it because of several flash rust areas due to the tailights/hatch leaking. I'll eventually get carpet to cover it but for now it'll do.

Haha, I wish I won the lottery. I just spend ALL of my money on this car, and I actually only have 12 dollars in my account at the moment. Plus not paying rent/insurance/any other weird kind of payment parents ask for helps with saving money.

I am thinking about buying the Circuit Sports exhaust hangers so I dont have to worry about anything breaking and this hitting the ground (also since the exhaust now is homeade i dont trust there being any hangers still on there)

So the motor is going back in Saturday, and there will defiantely be updates on that.

But in the meantime i figured I would throw a picture of what my dad did in a response to the HOA harrassing us about my car again.

Image

Apparently it is against the HOAs rules to have a car without a tag in your driveway. And apparently my car is "premeired"....I am assuming primered, which it has one or two hand sized primed areas but whatevs.

Well no luck on getting it started.

Maybe you guys can help.

We are getting spark, we know this because we pulled the plug out and it arced.
We are getting good clean fuel, we had to drain the tank and change the filter.
It is all correct timing wise.

We pulled the plugs and the tips were all slightly wet, so maybe after all the failed attempts we flooded it? We havfe all the plugs out right now trying to let it dry out, and we are charging the battery again.

BTW anyone have experience in figuring out why my power windows and dash still work with the key out of the ignition and in my pocket?
