No offense, but in my opinion you should just buy stock metal silvia fenders.. they fit much better and will make your car look great, especially if you want to keep an oem wheel.. without going after market you will remain forever sunken without large spacers.

my car use to have wide front fenders, and even after hours of work the fitment just wasn't there.. i traded them for stockers + 100, so i ended up with money and a better fitting front end..

but that's just what i think, to keep the fenders you'd need after market bumpers and skirts and wheels imo. but it does look good so far

None taken. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I love the configuration just the way it is (for now...haha).

I used these threads (on this forum) so you can read what they've already written:

zerothread?id=5142

zerothread?id=160285

But to answer your question, no, you don't have to do anything quite that complicated.

You need to get rid of those fenders, man. I click on this thread every time I come on here and in my mind I think, "Oh, it is that car again." Then I hit the back button.

Then I would suggest that you actually learn something and stop visiting this thread, because the car is staying exactly the way it is

Oh, please school me then. I am sure you know so much more than me by the looks of your car. Your fenders are an eye sore and are a pretty easy fix. All you have to do is extend them with some fiberglass and cloth.

Eikon: Stay out of this. Just because my criticism wasn't positive doesn't mean it wasn't just. This kid needs to know his weak points so he can work on them to step his game up. Unless if you want him rolling around looking like dooky, that is you opinion too. I would rather look at a clean car then a car that had a section of the fenders cut off. Why the hell did they do that anyways?

Zach, I like you, so don't take this personal, but you need to watch you p's and q's. It's not your criticism that bothers me, its the attitude with which you make that criticism. Had you made that criticism in a more constructive manner, it would have been appreciated, or at least not taken as insulting. You seem to have an air of elitism about you, and that doesn't come across well in the 'vert forum. While that attitude blends in just fine on many other forums, it doesn't fit the culture of the 'vert forum. That's something that I'm very proud of. I love the mature, professional, constructive attitude that is held in the 240 convertible forum.Oh and by the way... I'm the moderator of this forum, so you'd be wise not to tell me to "stay out of this".

First off, at 32 I haven't been called a kid in quite a while, so I appreciate that. That comment made me laugh.

Second, the reason I post exclusively on the vert forum is the mostly constructive comments from all the members. I appreciate that from everyone.

Third, I will take this oppurtunity to "school you"..

The fenders aren't "cut". They came that way. I'm trying to decide whether to add a lip or to fill them in with fiberglass.

If you want me to take anything you say seriously, I suggest toning down the attitude.

By the way...did I ever once say that the car was finished? Just checking as my mind tends to wander in my "youth"....

Zach, I don't know how many times I need to tell you that the vert people are different. Just stay chill, bro.

Everyone else, Zach is far from an elitist, but he's a bit brassy. It's just the way he is. He does mean well, just don't let it rub you the wrong way.

That's all I'll say on that. I'm not going to take sides here because I love the vert forum and Zach is a good friend of mine. So you guys work that out amongst yourselves.

NISXAN, maybe try fitting up the USDM fender extensions or an aftermarket Silvia bumper. Or, like Zach said, glass them up. They do look silly, but it is a project car, so just keep at it.

I am so sorry all you old guys are buying these 20 year old convertibles and trying to make them look cool, so you can pick up college girls, because you are going through an early mid life crisis.

I am sorry, I had to. I like a lot of the members on here and like Dexter said I am not an elitest at all. My car is chopped up in a few pieces, doesn't run, and isn't even fully paid for. So technically Michelle, Dexter's wife, still owns it. I guess my criticism just comes off harsh. I don't think I mean it to most of the time, but I just have a fowl mouth when I am in the garage or talking car talk. I guess you just have to meet me in person to love me.

Okay, so that this thread doesn't go too off course. If the bottom of stock 240sx fenders are the same size and shape I would cut them off and rivet them to the inside of your fiberglass fenders. Then throw some glass and resin over them to give you the basic shape you need. Sand them down, use some filler, and then repeat until you get the shape you need. You can throw some layers of mat/resin behind to give you some more strength. This could be done for like $40 in supplies. I have done something simmilar to rebuild a fiberglass rear that shot off a car when it met a cement wall at 80.

Now that is some schooling for you.

Obviously you don't read English well. He said he is trying to decide whether or not to buy a lip for it. He said he is debating about fixing the fenders.

See:The fenders aren't "cut". They came that way. I'm trying to decide whether to add a lip or to fill them in with fiberglass.

Now, for the Spanish. No me gusta pendejo. Pinche maricon.

I may be from the north, but I used to work for a Mexican restaurant and we have Mexicans working in our kitchen. Puto!

Z, I like you, too, man! I appreciate any help whenever I can get it!

I tried to fit up the USDM extensions and they don't quite fit, but I'm relatively sure they could be made to fit with a bit of "convincing" with a hammer and torch!

The lip would seem to be the best solution, but cf isn't really my style. I'd much prefer a nice flat black fiberglass or something.

I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do with that. Right now my focus is on getting the new tires/rotors/wheels/brakes on before the new car gets here.
