Hey all! I haven't been around the forums in a while, but thought I would update everyone on the status of my 'vert. She just got back from paint a couple of weeks ago. Let me know what you all think (I'm still getting the finishing touches for the front end together...haha)

The paint job looks good! But what happened to your front fender? Please tell me that they didn't ship that way.

And the wing....looks like it night take off.

Whats up with those fenders?? Front bumper needs a bit of adjustment. And the wings not really my taste. Clean car none the less. Welcome Back.

Haha...yeah, the fenders are 35mm wider than stock and they did ship that way. I am in the process of getting a couple of fiberglass pieces put together to fill in that gap. I've got s14 SE wheels and z32 brakes that will all go on at the same time when the weather cools off a bit, so I wanted to be ready for wider wheels/tires.

Basically, it was a Q's vs. K's issue with the fenders/bumper and it got a great deal on both that was too good to pass up (I did the entire front end swap – not counting paint – for $500).

I know not everyone digs the wing, but I do. It's a Bomex version of the s14 K's wing.

Thanks for the support, though.

Hijacker...nice to see my logo is still getting some use!

Does look in good shape.

But the normal applies to me as well:-front widebody without rear-widebody with stock wheels (S14 SE will not help)-the wing (looks 100x bigger than a S14 K's, probably because S14 is bigger/wider than S13).

I get your point about the widebody...I really want to do the rear as well, but that will have to wait until I have the $$ for that project. I may have one of my friends roll the rear fenders in the meantime.

The s14 wheels will hold me over until I can find some 350z wheels to fill up those gaps (I want to stay OEM as much as possible).

With widebody there really won't be an OEM wheel that will look good. You will need something 8-10" wide in front with +10 offset or lower.

Seth had me mock up some banners using it. I thought it came out good looking! I'm about to drop it though and go back to a sig with my car in it.

Who makes those fenders? I really wish I could find some overfenders for a silvia front that didn't have the obnoxious meshed vent behind the wheel well.

Nice lookin car man. I hate to say it, but I do agree with most other posts about the wing and what not. But, as they say, to each their own!

And not to thread jack or anything, but for either yourself or Hijacker, I've got a set of front and rear over fenders I'm looking to sell/trade or what not. Fronts are +20 rears are +50. Vent on the front is the same minus the mesh.

Anyways, keep us posted with pics!

You know, I can't remember who makes the fenders...I've had them for a while, and even then they weren't new. I will try to look back through my records and see if I can find out for you.

The way I look at it is this....if we all liked the same things, the world would be pretty boring

sci2000's kouki wing looks good, but yours is a little too big. Can you take some pics from the side with top up? Maybe it'll look better that way. You should get mild/aggressive bodykit to make it look better. Anyway, paint job looks clean and have fun modding it!!

^^Thx bro.

Looks clean. Big spoilers are not for everyone Keep up the good work.

And +1 for having a positive attitude about others opinions, at least your car isn't being called a mustang

Haha....yeah, nobody's called it a Mustang, but I do get a lot of very confused looks....

Actually, it's been drawing a crowd pretty much everywhere I take it since the Silvia front went on. People aren't used to seeing a lot of Silvias around here, and the 'vert aspect really makes it stand out.

I will try to get some other pics. I didn't realize that those angles make the rear wing look a lot bigger than it really is until you guys brought it up. I'll try to get some less "arty" camera angles soon!

Oh, and I've been modding it nonstop for almost 9 years now....I'm looking forward to taking a break when it finally gets "finished"

^^ Dammit dude you have my wheels....

NISXAN! good attitude man. But like everyone else here has said already, Give that thing back to Boeing so they can continue to develop their planes. Paint looks real clean though. and you need to widebody the rear asap. front wide looks weird without the rear IMO. paint is really nice though

BTW, you've been modding it for 9 years??? POP THE HOOD AND GIVE US PICS ALREADY! I DEMAND!

They're not in production. A couple of people have started to make them and never finished. there are only two people that I know of that got it done, this being one of them. He had to do it to pass the qualifications for drifting I think. I think people have tried getting them produced but the companies did not see a demand so it was a no go.

Eh, you probably wouldn't be too impress with my engine bay at the moment. I haven't done a ton of extra work to the engine, just because its got a few miles on it (249k at the moment) and I'm afraid to do too much to it at this point.

I've done some things, though:

Custom-fitted s14 Injen short ram intake

Nismo thermostat

Electric Altima fans (in my garage, awaiting cooler weather to install)

Turbo....still in my garage, waiting for a rebuild of the KA to happen first

Interior Stuff:

s14 cloth seats

s13 berber carpet (hard to find, but of-so-nice!)

s14 sun visors

digtial climate control

5-speed swap

5-lug swap with z32 brakes and s14 SE wheels ready to go on very soon

Is yours 100% fully functional? It's one of those tough projects.

Yep, fully functional. Tell me about it....I spent the better part of an entire weekend on my head in my passenger's side floorboard!

Not to mention the time to source all of the various sensors and parts I needed...

Here's a couple of pics with my old center piece:

Paint looks really nice... I actually kinda dig the wing but I definitely think you need some aggressive aero (and wheels to fill those wells) andmaybe a tiny bit more of a drop to truly pull it off... right now it looks kinda status but it has potential to look good with the right complementing exterior mods.

One question though...

Do your rear quarter windows just NOT roll down?

EDIT: I cant believe nobody has noted the boot. Damnit Verts look so much cleaner with a boot.

My rears will roll down....but the passenger side doesn't like to come back UP. It's one of those projects that I've seen several solutions for, but never found one that looked like it would actually work without several hours of work.

If anyone knows of a SIMPLE solution to the "jumping off the track" problem for the rear windows, pleeeeease let me know!

We know. It's just that it's too much trouble for me to get it on and take it off.

Or maybe clip is off the track.

Bingo! We have a winner!

I thought it was clear that I had already said that, but yes, that is the problem. I just hate getting out and holding the window while pushing the switch with my toe to get the window back up. Hence, they stay up most of the time. I've been trying to find a good solution to fix it, and hopefully they'll be "back on track" in the near future.

Haha...yeah, it was very ghetto fabulous for a bit!

The red is a Dupont mix to get as close to the stock Aztec Red as possible. I wanted "Boyd's Red" (as in Boyd Cottington's signature color) but that just wasn't in the budget this time.
