hahah don't worry we got respect for the V8's, esp. Chevy. I am a seasoned autocrosser so I know whats up with the vettes. Its just that he needs some better cars to race. All the modified cars he seems to find on the freeway are either not worthy or not even willing to race.

If i tell him that i got a blown vette lined up to race, im sure he would question his chances but he'd be down to race anyways just for fun! We all know that the Honda Civic isn't gods gift to cars but when done right, it's a hell of a time smashing on cars that shouldnt lose to 4 cyls
Sure I'm down then. I'm a car guy first and foremost, and am not brand loyal. When I had the red Ek9 run me last month, we ended up at a Smoothies and chilled in the parking lot talking about cars for like 30 minutes afterwards. Cool guys, so it was no big deal to hang out with them. I've thought about picking up an old school civic hatch for a DD, but I'm a bit worried about my bad habit of modding everything I see, and thieves loving to steal hondas.

One thing I did explain to those guys, and I have to do here is, I'm not interested in racing in traffic, not interested in cutting people off on the roadways, or driving recklessly, or in a way that could get other people hurt. Even though I have a big tendency to break the speed limit at times, or see what other cars have compared to what I'm driving at the moment, I try and be as safe as possible so not to involve innocent bystanders. Common sense I know, but it isn't so common it seems with many people.

fueler wrote:Hey guys I am opening a Mexican taco shop in less than two weeks in Mission Valley. It is currently run-down and not the greatest, but I am focusing on cleaning the place up and making delicious food with the freshest ingredients. Any advice? Should I make it more suited for gringos (simple menu like La Salsa) or keep in Mexican (all that adobado and machaca stuff, combinaciones) What would you guys like to see in a mexican food place? What mexican food places do you guys like around San Diego?
Here's what you do:

1) Go to Lolita's in Kearny Mesa. Try everything. One of top ten in whole county.

2) Make your place look nicer than that and try to match and exceed their quality. My wife and I eat tacos in TJ and I still think that place rocks'em.

3) Advertise enough and make $$$

I kind of want to show up, I only live 5 minutes away. Yet I fear that my car will not be accepted nor will I.

I brought my corvette just because my S13 wasn't road worthy. Just show up man. We spent 4 hours BSing last night.

I'll go to Mira Mesa if it ends up being moved there. Just don't really want to go to fuzion...

I forgot about a couple guys I know with S14's that could have showed up to Tuesday's meet. Talked to them yesterday after work, and they know more guys with 240's also. Just need to give them a head's up. Looks like we could have 6-12 240sx's meeting up with the right time, and enough notice.

well ive been stopping just about every 240 ive seen on the road that looks like they might be interested. but i didnt know where to tell them to go because we arent decided yet. i was thinking that we may want to get the crowd a little bigger then move cause i dont want everyone getting lost or losing interest. maybe make a little run out of it. meet here drive there last one buys the beer....or ... uhh pizza. how far is it anyways?

well i wouldn't say to eat at fuddruckers because it could be good for some but not others but there are a lot of places around.

i just like the spot in between fuddruckers and banner mattress because it's a huge lot that is rarely used.

yeah. i know. but its just shorter to call it "fudruckers" instead of " the big parking lot in between fudruckers and banner mattress." next time i wont be so lazy.

wow OC is a hell of a drive down here, i think the meet is still in santee but if it was in mira mesa it'd be a lot closer for the people coming from the north.

i guess we'll see where everybody else wants to meet.

Unless you don't mind driving an hour and a half down, I don't recommend you try this meet.

OT: You're right by where I get the work done on my C5.

I already got pulled over yesterday racing a Lamborghini coming home from the LA Summer BBQ meet. Luckily the cop only saw us top out at 90(we were hitting 120 or so on other runs), and I got out of a speeding ticket. But he cited me for following too close, and fix it ticket for the tinted windows(then gave me a warning on no front plate).

For anybody who was wondering, the vette won. Wasn't really that close.

Do vettes even have a spot (factory holes drilled) for a front plate?

We have a spot for the plate, however it's not drilled(it's physically part of the bumper) and it already has a cover that goes over it(in the group I hang out with, not one of us have a front plate).

So to them I say, TOUGH SHEIT!
