I was going through an intersection, when a lady in a 2003 Jeep Cherokee turned left and smashed into me head-on towards the driver's side. The light was green both ways, but people turning left are supposed to yield to oncoming traffic, so it was her fault. I got taken to the ER in an ambulance. She also went to the hospital but they took their time because she wasn't hurt badly. Her airbag bruised her, but not seriously, and her Jeep is fine. They closed the intersection for a while, which is a major one, so people probably weren't happy about that. There were two firetrucks, four ambulances and a bunch of police cars. A big crowd gathered, which scared me a little, because everyone was just looking at me and the car with their mouths open. I'm doing so much better now, down to taking pain pills once a day instead of three times a day, and I've had the support of people on here as well as my friends, so I've been lucky.fiznat wrote:Jeez... I'm glad you're okay....
What happened? Was anyone else hurt? How did it happen??
Damn!! **** like that happends to me all the time But i usually have the time to stop (not the crash ****, The intersection thing) I just dont understand why the hell people are buying these huge suvs. some say o its because we have kids. MOST people only have 2 kids! even my neighbor has a excursion and she only has 2 kids. People there not Safe and all there doing is puting car drivers in danger. (eccept if you drive a bentley) and also I hope you feel better and give me a e-mail if your gonna sell ant parts.s14_girl wrote:

Nope the airbags didn't. I didn't get any marks on my face though, amazingly enough. That's one thing everyone was mentioning, that I didn't have any scratches or bruises on my face. I've been salvaging today, until it started raining and then we went home because I can't get the cast on my left leg wet. Tomorrow I want to get my seats if possible.Kuno3x16 wrote:OUCH... i see the air bags didn't deploy...atleast you got out hehe... salvaging time =)
The wheel that got hit is bent. The pictures I took are pretty good, I think, but it's nothing compared to actually being there. I wish I could show everyone how it looks in real life somehow, there's just some angles a camera can't capture.Veriest1 wrote:Hopefully you'll be able to salvage the motor and most of your wheels and maybe some more stuff.
Is the center piece hurt on the wheel that got hit? It looks like you may just need an outer ring there.
I was going probably 35 because the car in front of the Jeep turned left as I was approaching the intersection, and I slowed for it. I probably wouldn't have even turned at the point when that car did, it was too close. People were thinking the lady in the Jeep just followed that car thinking that if he could go then she could, but that wasn't true because when I entered the intersection she was fully stopped, not rolling. Then for whatever reason, when I was in the middle, she hit it, and slammed into me.240SicknessX wrote:a friend of mine with a s14 had a simalar accident, but his car was hit after the the front driver wheel and richetd the car to his right, reloacting everything 1ft inward down the side of the car, a few stitches and he was out later that afternoon.
thankgod for seat belts, im sure things could have been worse, good thing they didnt or who knows what would have happened.....
how fast were you going? 40-45mph speedlimit
ps, there is no speedlimit to recovery....... so go as fast as you can.
That's exactly what I said about the strut bar! I was explaining to my mom what a strut bar is and what it is supposed to look like and she was shocked too whenshe understood. Lol, don't worry about holding down a clutch, either one of my casts is probably heavy enough to do it on their own! Everyone keeps saying they feel sorry for me, dragging them both around, but it's okay, i'll feel like i'm walking on air when they're off.96240SX41 wrote:man that sucks. LOOK AT THAT STRUT BAR dang. . .i'm sorry and hope you get well soon. . .make sure them ligaments in the foot heel up right or else you won't be havin a higher stage clutch. . .shoot, you might not even be able to push the stock lol jk, but really, hope you get well soon, and hope she buys you a car!!
Whoa, 70 mph, I can't even imagine that, given that this accident happened at 35 or 40!I was just in my car this morning getting my electronics out. I got my Pioneer stereo, and that was my S-AFC II on my dash, I got that too. Probably will try to get the turbo timer tomorrow, it's funny-not many people notice the turbo timer since it was mounted on the rearview mirror. I will get reimbursed for anything that is ruined or that I can't get out. We will take her to court if that is what it comes down to. I think you're right, one problem is that people are in a big hurry a lot of the time. I may be just unusual, but whenever I'm driving I'm thinking about what other people might do as well as what I'm doing. I've learned you have to expect people to do the most stupid thing they could possibly do, don't trust them to always have good judgement. Unfortunately in this case, there was no time to do that. I didn't even have time to brake.Chaotic_Warlord wrote:all I ca say is OI totally feel your pain, I was in an accident last month that closed down the PA Turnpike for an hour, all because 2 girls decided to go drink and drive and lost control of their car. I built a web page to explain the whole thing and to post pics for my fellow Galantspeed.com guys to see.

If I hadnt of been wearing my seatbelt and the airbags hadn't deployed I wouldnt be talking to you right now, I hit her car doing almost 70 MPH, I didnt even see it until I hit it.
If you can't salvage the engine at least get the electronics, looked like you had a turbo timer, aftermarket stereo and is that a GSport on the dash? Try to get as much out of your car as you can, will save you money later. Also do you plan to take the woman to court or you just going to let the insurance companies fight it out. I'd take her to court, especially if it was her fault.
Oh and it's not just the soccer moms in the SUVs that are causing accidents, its everyone. People need to learn to just take it easy and not be in such a rush to go anywhere, they're really bad about that up here in Philly.
Not nearly, from what I hear. I was only half conscious when they pulled me out, and I didn't even get a look at my own car. But I was told that she had minimal damage. Everyone said my car and I got the worst of it. I think her front bumper was a little messed up, that's about it, and I'm glad for her that the damage wasn't worse. She probably has kids she has to take places (though she was alone in the Jeep), and I'm only responsible for me.EstoMax wrote:wow. thats horrible looking

what happened the the jeep ? did it get messed up just as bad or not nearly?

I'm definitely going to try to get the seats tomorrow, as well as my z32 maf. I don't know exactly how I'm going to get under the hood to get the maf, and it might not even be in good shape, but I have to try. The people at the shop I used to go to (who don't know what they're doing) took my steering assembly apart at one point, and they didn't put it together again right, so the airbag light on the dash was on. I'd been meaning to take it apart and put it back together myself, but just hadn't had the time yet.tenkawa_akito wrote:make sure you grab those seats. You'll want them in your next S14.
How come your SRS didn't deploy?
You might want to look into that a little more. I'd be pretty pissed at that fact if I was in your shoes. If they did it wrong, it's up to THEM to do it right, or send it somewhere to have someone do it right before letting you drive the car again.s14_girl wrote:The people at the shop I used to go to (who don't know what they're doing) took my steering assembly apart at one point, and they didn't put it together again right, so the airbag light on the dash was on.
