I am running the standard Z32 cables routed through the stock location. I used some 1/8" by 1" steel stock I had laying around to fab up a few extensions for both the cables to reach and the brackets to get bolted up to the stock locations.Nothing really fancy, but it was a good way to kill a couple of hours and a six pack. I don't have any pictures as this was done almost 10 years ago, but fairly simple to do. I personally do not feel confident in the cable splicing method, as a friend of mine attempted it on his car. I have zero confidence in his parking brake even after several adjustments. After making the small extension pieces to get the cables to bolt up, basically 2 pieces of strap about 2" long with a small hole drilled at each end, revealed the cables were about 4" too short. I cut out out 2 lengths of strap 10" long. I drilled out a hole with a slot down the middle (so as to insert the stock cable) bent the ears back leaving about 3/4" spacing in the middle. I drilled 2 holes at the ends so as to bolt the extension to the e-brake end of the cable. In short, think of a roughly 4" long "U" shape with a hole on the ends and a slotted hole down the middle. Outside of using a bending lathe on base (which I could probably have done at home with some Vise Grips) my trustee cordless drill, tape measure, a few of the smaller drill bits and a few bolts from a jar, and about 2 feet worth of steel strap was all I used. I installed an aluminum shaft a couple of months ago, and after many years there was no visible cracks or signs of any wear on my brackets or extensions. I did however remove them for a quick scuff and re-paint though. Sorry, kinda long, but well worth the amount of work involved.
