Just showing what I used to install my Z32 rear e brake cables. Used 14 gauge steel "L" stock. Worked really well & was able to utilize stock mounting points.

And 1 shot of the brakes.

Nice job, where did you get those brackets from?

Thanks. Just zinc plated L stock with the holes already in it. Simple, effective & cheap.

BTW, I found your write-up really helpful.

Good thread! I'm about to do this. Have one question. I have both 2 seater and 2+2 cables. Which one's easier to mount?

Where did you buy that 'L' bracket from? I mean which STORE?

I vote for the ones with the brackets that sit flush against the floorboard unless you get a set of these brackets like Dammitboy for the other ones, he solved that problem.

These are 2 seater cables.

I bought it from Loew's, but any hardware store will do. I used a Sawzall to cut it up, and finally bead blasted the brackets & painted them for corrosion resistance. Truth be told I will redo them this w/e with thicker gauge metal, simply because at full lock of the emergency brake handle I'm getting the brackets to bend alittle.

But on a positive note the handle is firm.

2+2 cables sit flush with floor board. I'll use 2+2 cables then. Thanks.

Have you seen these? Just found about them. They look pretty sweet. I'm going to use 2+2 cables for sure.

Bumping this up what do you guys know about these? I picked a set up for 10 bucks and haven't made the attempt to put it on yet. There are no photos for reference. Has anyone used this kit?

If you're talking about using those on a S13, I used them when I put my rears on and came to find out that you don't need them at all. The 2 seater Z32 cables goe right to the T-bracket.

Don't use them. I've seen them breaking on several people's s13. You are better off if you install cables with those brackets.
