My interior is on hold for now... LOL.

Only think I have done so far is cutting my SAFC and cig lighter out of the cubby from my ZX2 and molding in into the center console / shifter surround...

How it looks now:

Why its on hold:

I do have 4 yards of suede tho... It will be used on the inserts for the front seats and door panels. Also wrapping the arm rest and glove box. Then it will be cut into strips and used to cover the roll cage I am making in 2 months.

Simulated Italian leather will be used for the rest of the seat, wrapping the dash, and the door panels. The rear will remain empty and I will shave the rear before I put in the cage.

What I've been working on...

$30 a yard. Its called "Street Suede". I got it through school (WyoTech) when I was in Trim/Upholstery class.

Here are other samples. The simulated leather I was talking about along with a different brand of suede that is outlined is what I am doing my seats / door panels / dash in. The red was just ordered for a friend to see.

Unfortunatelly the business I ordered the below samples from just 6 weeks ago... are going out of business and sold out of what I wanted. It's easy to say I'm kind of pissed but I'm going to try to find out who the manufacture of it was since I think that they are just a dealer or something.

NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! yellow2000.

I would tell you not to use suede but its too late.

That ****s gonna fade out if its in the sun alot. I think basically any suede does.

Im going to Keystone in a few weeks to pickup some materials to redo a bunch of seats and im just dredding having to pick the materials cause I want suede SOOOO bad but it fades out over time.

Im thinking of doing black leather with a dark gray perferated suede insert but suede makes me sad cause the fading factor.

Anyways... continue on with whatever you were talking about. I just needed to express myself on the whole suede situation.

Oh, BTW. Whenever you recover some seats post um up. Ill post mine up. Im gonna be doing some crazy interiors for 2 XBs, my S13 with S14 seats, and some spare racing seats pretty soon. Should be fun.

I'm not concerned... All windows will be stripped and retinted with 40% and the windshield will be tinted with the clear UV tint.

In the event of the inserts fading down the road from wear in say a year or so... I do upholstery work. It won't be hard to just replace the inserts LOL.

My parents 2.5 car garage / my workspace. 90% of the stuff in there is mine LOL.

LOL. I'm going to have to start paying the increase in utilities... Between the A/C, compressor, and welding, I made their electric bill go up almost $80 last month!!!

Vroom, you ever do that cupholder mod? Your work is pretty high quality and some of the other cupholder writeups on Nico are pretty ghetto.

Here's a quick one:

1st: Get this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

2nd: Get a hole saw appropriately sized (probably around 3 3/4" maby a little less)

3rd: Find center-point of where you would like to drill and place the cup holder, and mark it

4th: Place hole saw pilot bit on dot made in step 3 and drill till you go through plastic

5th: Drop in cup holder with a little bead of modeling glue around the top to keep it in place.

6th: Enjoy

well yeah, it's just the issue of the ash tray being there and whatnot. I wanted to see other people's solutions before I screwed up my own car, haha.

LOL, oh ****, forgot about that being there (its been a few months since I've looked at the interior pieces for my 240 and I'm "new" to 240s in general) so I havent been around them long enough like ZX2s to pick up on that kind of stuff yet.

Haha... ZX2... I'm still driving around my Escort 4 door with a 5 speed until the Nissan is roadworthy... Damn you and your extra 20 horse power!

The ZX2 isnt on the road... I'm stuck driving my dads Geo Tracker right now... ~86 whp / tq and 3,300 lbs of fury! NOT
