No, if you do that, your gauges will be on all the time and drain your battery. Green to red on the stereo. Red/black to yellow on stereo IF THE CLOCK DOESNT WORK. If it does, leave that wire alone.

Just pull the stereo. Its faster and then just run the one wire you need up to the cluster. I am assuming your clock works? As far as the stereo wires I am NOT talking the chassis colors, they are different. Aftermarket stereos use the same color scheme so go by what colors are on the back of your deck.

Speedo sounds like the teeth on the gear on the sensor. Rpm doesnt work because your car has a sohc tach with a dohc tach signal. (a 9117 auto meter tach adapter should drive the sohc tach.) The gas gauge might be the sending unit, but you would have to check the fsm procedure because that stays stock, with any swap so would be an oem diagnosis. They'd my thoughts on your setup.

I bought the car from a friend who built it.
So I really dont have prior knowledge and how everything was built.
Im actually very new to the nissan world.
1. speedo - replace sensor
2. RPM - buy an adapter? is there a DIY?
3.Gas, I didnt understand you.

Speedo-yes, replace sensor... (unless the gear id chewed up....then just replace the gear from nissan for $12)
Rpm- I was in the middle of a diy but soon realized I had 2 dohc clusters, so wasn't able to test my theory but I'm very confident it will work. Rather the adapter, or if you can find a dohc cluster.
Gas- the sensor in the tank. Rather the float, or the needle isn't making contact. Google how to fix fuel sending unit.

awesome.
As far as the sensor. Where is it located? I did some searching and there is ONE pic that came up, and it's very vauge.
Also, do I need to lift the car to reach it?
RPM - so just find /buy a DOCH cluster? know a good spot where I can buy one from?
I also have a JDM cluster that was given to me, but only one cable plugs in. The others are too big.

The jdm should fit directly. Or you can take the cluster apart and switch just the tach. The speed sensor is in the tail section of the transmission. Look in the fsm.

They usually go for $100. I got my tach adaptor for $80. A stock dohc you could probably get off the classifieds here. Hell I even have an extra dohc tach I could test and ship.
