The grey box that has all the forums listed? Yes, you can fix that by standing your phone upright.on an iPhone it's as easy as just that, but on other smart phones it's probably a setting you have to adjust.

I use Dolphin Browser HD. I really like it. I'll show it to you next time I'm over there.

Dolphin's the way to go. I used to piss and moan about firefox taking so long to port over. Now, it would have to blow everything we know about mobile browsing out of the water for me to even consider swapping.

I would recommend Opera Mini over them all. I've used Skyfire, Dolphin HD, and the stock browser and Opera Mini is by far better at rendering pages & functionality IMHO. I use it multiple times during the day and I have no complaints about it.

The problem with Opera Mini is that it cannot support display any active content.

NVM my picture were of the regular opera mobile that come on the HD2.

Opera mini look good but I wished it it it had pinch zoom. Hopefully Dolphin will release a version for Windows in the future.

True, but I never feel a need for it to. It browses every page I normally go to on my PC just fine. I just felt like the other alternatives were a little too slow performance wise.

Agreed. I just run across pages like mediafire that require a 60 second countdown to download a file. I have to open them in the default browser :(

DL that browser Greg. Seriously. Even when the forum crashes and no one can get on, I can still get access through Dolphin HD. Pretty handy.

Bolt Browser is a godsend. It doesnt compare to Safari or Dolphin, but it gets the job done.

How the f*** can you stand having everything spelled out like that? Just looking at that screenshot makes me want to stab babies. I can't imagine actually USING a phone set up like that.

Are you friggin' kidding? Up until July, MOST phones were still on 1.6 or older. Now 2.1 is starting to become the dominant version (thanks to the sixteen truckloads of Android phones released in the last two months) but there are still a HUGE amount of 1.6 and 1.5 phones out there. And there are lots of tablets launching right now running 1.6.

And, as Jesda said, those phones still with old versions are never going to get upgrades. Ever. It's actually Android's biggest weakness. The grand-canyon size divide in capability between Donut and Eclair means someone is always going to lose out...whether it's Donut users not getting apps at all, or Eclair users losing features for Donut compatibility.

I'm still trying to figure out how frozen yogurt qualifies as a pastry. I guess it's more "dessert" themed than wheat-product themed.

Anyway, there is a version of dolphin for pre 2.0 that, while it doesn't see a lot of updates anymore, is still pretty good.

Yeah, I'm running my MyTouch on 2.2, but it was only designed for 1.6. It's a bit slow, but it works. Of course, this is a completely hacked rom.

pre-2.0 devices shouldnt even be lumped in with the new generation of android devices. they are on completely different levels.

Huh, I didn't realize there were that many phones still running 1.5 and 1.6. Seems stupid. Way to fail Android.
