I dunno what the hell that is, but it sure isn't a Pathfinder.

You're right.. A Rogue and a Quest had a baby with an extra chromosome and this what it looks like... A lame pretend-offroad minivan.

Good job Nissan!!! You are quickly destroying everything that I once loved about you.

*At least they haven't tried to make it a convertible yet.*

At first I didn't like it, but now it's starting to look pretty good.

Considering Nissan/Infiniti ruined the only two vehicles I would be interested to buy down the line (Murrano, FX-35 -> both hideous) , when this comes out, it'll probably be the best looking SUV/Crossover in their line-up. So relative to the other vehicles they make, this is exceptional.

As for off-road performance... I really could care less as I only drive on snow and rugged terrain maybe a week out of the year. Thats coming from an R50 owner...

Good job Nissan!

No doubt, that is beyond ugly. Looks like the Chevy Traverse? with a nicer paintjob. Interior looks very well done but WoW cant get past the exterior....

Guys, it really is not that bad looking. Now, if you enjoyed the look of the current Pathfinder a lot, then I understand where you are coming from. The current Pathfinder looks much tougher and way more rugged, but this is where Nissan needs to be to remain competitive. This should be a sales success for Nissan, but it will certainly not win over the off-roader crowd, which it is not designed to do anyway.

I think it looks pretty good, hey at least they didn't go nuts and design it to look like the Juke!

Styling preferences aside, I think we need more details on the powertrain and chassis to really get into a discussion on this. I'm quite interested in the intial quality of this completely redesigned vehicle, so I'll be checking in often once new owners start popping up on here, and hopefully TrueDelta.com gets a good sample size. However with the likely high pricetag of this vehicle I'm guessing there will be relatively low sales numbers and it'll take a couple years to get a good sample size. Even if this is the most fantastic vehicle ever made it's all irrelevant if nobody can afford to buy one new; you'll have to ask yourself how badly you want the 3rd row seats and extra cargo area when the Rogue has a competant AWD system, decent interior space and quality for around 40% lower price tag, I think most people will choose the Rogue out of financial necessity. Or if you are going to spend the big bucks on a 3-row crossover why not choose the proven Honda Pilot and get solid quality whereas the Pathfinder will be un-proven and have to earn consumer confidence.....

The price will not be much more then the Murano and less than the JX which has prices listed at Infiniti's website.

Perhaps manufacturers are realising that some people avoid buying vehicles with parts that will wear out and are expensive to replace.

In Vancouver, I see many current gen BMW X5 and Acura MDX's with one burnt out HID, so obvioulsy they haven't been perfected enough. These people probably know what they cost to replace...

My dads friend got rid of his BMW 5 series because his run flat tires cost 600 a piece after he got a couple of flats.

I have heard of people avoiding the Toyota Venza because of the cost of the tires on the large stock rim.

As a manufacturer, I think they should know what the marque stands for and what people expect from it.

Also it enables the equivelent Infiniti to be "better" (by using HIDs)

Yea, I'll stick with my $10 dollar bulbs. I work at an auto parts store, I love the look on their faces when I tell them it'll cost them around $250 just for the bulb (the one with the ballast).

Murano had HID's, I am sure the new Pathfinder will have them as well.

Since we are on the subject, I love the Syvania Silverstar Ultra bulbs. Those are inexpensive, look and perform awesome, and they last a very long time!

The blue tint on the bulb's glass makes it output less light, and creates more glare on the road in inclement weather. Read here.

Let's be realistic here, Only a few people off road their pathfinders. Most are used on the highway. I have the off road edition and I've never been off road. Go to youtube and watch only a handful going off road with their pathfinders.

The people who buy pathfinders now are family men and this is more than enough for them.

I agree, there will be a lot more excitement about this redesigned vehicle than it's experienced in the past few years, and most definately Nissan will sell many more than in past years. I'm a father of 2 and provided this is a durable high build quality vehicle it would likely be ideal for me and the family, and some of the kids friends etc. that come along for hockey or skiing trips.

For the offroad guys there's the Xterra, Frontier, and Titan just within the Nissan brand, I think it makes good sense to give the Pathfinder name to a more balanced vehicle that will satisfy the needs of a wide range of buyers. If they can price this thing reasonably, at least undercut the class-leading Honda Pilot, and give it some cool tech including a touch screen system similar to Ford's Microsoft "MyTouch", it will do very well.

That Ford Mytouch is the one thing I hope they don't copy. What a needlessly complicated, counter-intuitive, nightmare.
I'm sure Nissan can do better.

Yeah, I would agree with that..........Ford has had their share of issues with the MYtouch and SYNC, and all that..........Nissan / Infiniti gets high praise for their Nav systems and user friendly technology features, and it would be nice to see more of this trickle into the Xterra, at least as an option.

Armada is a nice large off-roader!!!!!!!!!

Here's a newly released video that shows lots of detail of the new Pathfinder as they test it in real world, snowy winter conditions. It's obvious to me that this vehicle is directly marketed towards families who want a little bit of extra capability and more "cool" factor than a minivan, in particular active families who ski, camp etc.. They show how the second row flips/slides forward with a car seat installed to allow access to the third row - I've not seen another vehicle that can do this with a car seat installed so that is a great feature for families with small kids. For those don't have small kids are looking for a more rugged offroader, this probably won't excite you one bit. Here's the video:

http://ca.autoblog.com/2012/02/23/2013- ... in-motion/

I'm not all that impressed with the exterior looks of the vehicle anymore, it looks ok but nothing to get excited about. And the towing test in this video is laughable, they're towing a golf cart, any 4-cylinder car can tow this puny load, is this truly putting the Pathfinder tow capability to the test? Why bother if that's all they could find to tow??!!
