I know of a complete manifold with itbs, injectors, and all, for $600 if anyone needs to source a complete rb26 intake side.

It was I.

Was curious what you were doing with all those Honda D15 motors on engine stands.

I'm very interested in this, but like the other guys if its $500 for a adapter plate I can't participate.

But if you have the CAD file or if you have the .dsg file (CADCAM/MasterCAM i believe) I know of a place that has CNC machines. They would probably do these plates for Cheap if you had the .DSG file.

Let me know [email protected]

I took CAD in school and still know how to use it. I too can create one if I had the measurements and crap. However I don't recall anyone here in town doing such work.

Put me down on the RB25 list as a maybe. Depends on how much it is . I have a god father that does cnc machining.. I could maybe use that design file as well

something like that probably cost around $100 to fully cnc'ed. there's nothing much to it. the will charge a little more for the first one, since they have to get it converted into g codes, software does all that. still no way near $500 either.

Then $200 or so might be a good price.. make's profit for them, keeps the price decent for us

I agree, the materials are bought by the pound and class by machine shops ( I know how it all works because I am constantly fighting with them) and that is maybe a $20 piece of aluminum and an hour of machine time, plus another quarter hour of setup time per piece, so for $300w/harware it would be fair. I have a fastenal account so I could even get the fasteners at discount for everyone.

Brody-Let me know if you want me too, I am not trying to horn in on your deal here, I am just offering to get them cheaper and save you some hassle and time. I am at fastenal at least once a week anyway so its not a big deal.

I might be interested in one of each.So email me if you can, I would like to talk to you more about [email protected]

BTW man this is a great idea, I had the same idea a few years back, but I didnt think there was enough interest and I put it out of my mind, but it seems you came up with this at a good time. Props, more power to you, this was nicely done and you deserve boatloads of credit.

would this set up require a tune and a map sensor like a normal ITB setup or can you use the stock MAFS and tune?

No the Stock GTR uses twin MAFS (due to the twin turbo), but you can stay with your single MAF.It would be better to get a tune, but not fully necessary though.

If it was N/A and there was no Plenum for the ITB's, then yes you would need to run a MAP sensor. Either that or 6 little MAFS on each runner.

Wow, the direction this thread has taken makes me sad.

Brody, Good work man!! I'm a big fan of the idea and execution. Personally, I wouldn't reproduce this part. I'd keep it all to myself. Especially after the way people are already whining about a price that hasn't even been set yet for a part you haven't even completed.

This isn't something he whipped out with a rotary tool in his garage. It's a specialty, low volume, niche market piece that you can not buy anywhere else. Last I checked, if you don't like the price of something, you don't have to buy it.

To all the experts who chimed in with their cost estimates, I'd love to see you get one of these made for less than 500. Now keep in mind. Part of that money would be to pay a shop to do all the R&D for proper fitment. Then, you'd get to pay a machine shop the set up fee. Buy the material, and then hope it turns out good and fits well. If not, well then you get to pay them all over again.

Sure, if you worked at a machine or fab shop that had all the equipment, and you did all of the labor yourself, it could be done cheaper. But, if you bought this hypothetical kit, you wouldn't have to do any of that.

To all the whiners. Please zip it. Let him decide if he wants to make it and let the rest of us have a shot at buying it. Then, you can buy the poor fitting knock offs on egay!

Pretty sweet! I've heard of this idea since the early days of this swap... glad to see someone actually did it!

Before selling it or taking orders... I would highly recommend completing your first setup, test it, and develop your pricing when you're very comfortable that it's a good business case as breaking even might turn out to be expensive.

Those who've been in this stuff for a long time... you don't want to turn into another Cameron (one of the early importers/swappers who promised the world and bit off A LOT more than he could chew... ended up in a lot of legal trouble)

Keep up the good work!

For everyone still interested, the development is nearing the end and scheduled appearance is planned at the dyno in the next couple of weeks. The adapter has been flow-benched and exceeds our initial expectations. With final testing nearing the end, we will have final numbers and a sure product to provide to the Nico community.

good stuff but I feel that a full on tune will be needed to take advantage of the itb's.
