see, its the same principle. the sr uses a 71 mm shaft spacing like the rb20 and ka24.

PROJECTRB240SX - Much props to you for using an Auto. Frosted Flakes swayed me to definitely get the RB instead of the SR. And now your telling me there is a sickass 5spd auto. Dude keep me/us updated. And pics would be great when your swapping things around. And I'm glad no one is bashing on you. Think different and prove how fast an auto can be. I calculated Frosted Flakes drivetrain loss and its 18% while a 5spd is 15%. So with the RB auto trans I can change the torque converter and most likely be even in drivetrain loss. And which one is better? M-ATx or E-ATx? Maybe someone can explain to be the pros/cons of each one.

WELL THIS IS ONE PROJECT I'M GOING TO STICK TOO. I WONDER IF I'LL NEED THE RB25DE/T ECU TO CONTROL MANUAL MODE OR IF I CAN JUST SPLICE IT INTO THE RB20DET ECU?

hey project, you might want to check with DDX. I was looking at something else and noticed that they sell the complete clip, mabe they have the parts you need:

YEAH I TRIED HE SAID HE DOESN'T HAVE ANY TRANNYS THOUGH..... I HIGHLY DOUBT HE'LL BREAK UP THE CLIP EITHER.

DID THE NEOS EVEN COME IN MANUAL? I THOUGHT THEY WERE ALL AUTO SO THERE WAS NO COMPETITION BETWEEN THE GTR AND THE LOWER MODELS.

I am glad to hear that worked out for you. If I didn't love my wife so much I would be in big fat debt driving a 911 Tubo and living off Ramen noodles :)

since this is an RB forum, it would be a toss up between the 911 and an R34 GTR with 30PSI of boost :)

WELL I FOUND OUT THIS IS ONLY THE 4-SPEED AND THE GUY WAS LYING TO ME..... THE 5-SPDS ONLY COME IN THE 350Z AND NEWER V35 SKLINES/G35 AND CARS LIKE THOSE. WHICH THOSE TRANNIE CAN'T BE ADAPTED WITH OUT HACKING UP THE BELLHOUSING BECAUSE OF THE REVERSED STARTER AND OTHER STUFF. PLUS THE FACT THIS transmission MAY NOT EVEN BE POSSIBLE TO GRAFT TO THE ECU BECAUSE OF VASTLY DIFFERENT CONTROL UNITS. MEGGALA IS SERIOUSLY TRAYING TO SWAY ME FROM THIS BECAUSE OF HIS EXPERIENCES WITH NISSAN AUTOS.

YEAH I WAS ALL GEARED UP AND READY TO GO AND THEN SOMEONE PMS ME ON SDU AND THEY ARE LIKE YOU KNOW THEY DON'T HAVE A 5SPD RIGHT? I'M LIKE I THOUGHT THEY DID AND HE SAID ONLY THE NEWER VH AND VQ ONES ARE 5-SPD.... I WAS LIKE DAMN BUT WAS EXTREMELY HAPPY THAT I DIDN'T BUY IT AND FIND OUT THE HARD WAY.

ANYWAY, I'LL PROBABLY REBUILD YOU FIVE SPEED AND DO A DUAL CLUTCH SYSTEM. I HAVEN'T HEARD BACK FROM YOU YET AND WAS WONDERING WHATS UP?

That system looks bad ***. But why do you have to have A/T? Just learn to drive manual, it's cheaper and funner than that system.

Umm on the evo it has been recorded to knock .4 seconds off the 1/4 mile. I spent all day reading up on this system. Apperently it is discribed as a sequential shift kit from takakira, wich holds true except for the gears are still laid out in original h pattern versus the up down style tap shifting of the true sequential. Sequential box electronically contr4ols the synchros but this one is still manually operated. It is fully adjustable so you can tune your shifts for a more aggressive response or smooth for racing, and you can also switch back to regfular manuel for when you just feel like shiften. This is freakin awesome system, and I feel really bad about owning an auto now. Oh well next car will definatly be a manny..
