Knock sensor codes really make the car run like crap..happened on my buddy's KA and we ended up swapping ecu's to fix the problem and then it ran great.

i am going to pull the knock sensor plugs later today. The car still runs like crap though. I switched the O2 last night and reset the ECU, and it didn't change a damn thing.

IF ITS NOT A LEAK OR VACUUM PROBLEM WOULD A STANDALONE CLEAR UP ANY ECU RELATED PROBLEMS?

i'm running my power steering pump...but i didn't connect the power steering pump signal wire. It is suppose to up the idle when the pump is in use. But since it isn't hooked up, it shouldn't be upping the idle.

We don't use the load sence for power steer.

Check your fuel pressure.. I think you'll find its up!The std regs can't bypass the fuel of a big fuel pump.

You will have a vacuum hose going to the reg.. pull that off, hook up your gauge and then turn key on.. pump will prime and you will see what your base is.40psi at idle, witht he hose on is too high.. you have a big pump also?

I know this may be far fetched, but have you check to see that your throttle plate is closing completely. I know a couple of guys that had to adjust their throttle cable. It was being held open ever so slightly at idle causing it to idle round 1200rpm. No matter what they did with the idle screw, it would not go below that figure.

Till they adjusted the throttle cable. Then it idled perfectly since the throttle plate wasn't cracked open.

Just a thought.

if the ecu says that its all good then perhaps its the injectors.i would pull the injectors and have them cleaned and see if thats the problem.what about fuel filter?if its never been changed then it will most definately cause hesitaion as they do get clogged.change it out to a 300zx fuel filter, works fine.try the filter bit out first then the injectors, else i have no idea.mebey a damaged MAF.*edit*come to think of it it probably is a clogged fuel filter.i had a friend who had a honda prelude that wouldnt rev past a certian point no go above a certian speed.replaceed the fuel filter and all was good.

I HAVE ALL NEW FILTERS ON THIS CAR (300ZX OIL AND FUEL FILTER).THIS CAR ALSO HAS A NEW FUEL PUMP (WALBORO 255LPH)THE INJECTORS ARE ALL CLEAN WE CHECKED THEM HERE AT WORK AFTER I SEAFOAMED THEM.THE MAF IS A-OK.

THIS LIMITER IS A SPARK CUT SO THE COMPUTER IS CAUSING IT. YOU CAN TELL ITS A SPARK CUT BECAUSE ITS IMMEDIATE AND WHEN SPARK COMES BACK ON, THERE IS A HUGE FIREBALL OUT THE EXHUAST.

I WILL TRY ANOTHER FUEL FILTER BUT I DOUBT ITS IT....

Check the pressure with just prime.. not running idle pressure.

Did you ever set your TPS? Have you messed with the IACV screw?

The stock fuel reg mixed with the 255 pump should be fine. I ran mine like that for years. Unless your reg is just bad.

Check that fuel press on prime and idle. Have you posted this on SDU??

How do you set the tps? I've tried everything in the manual related to timing and idle but I just want to know if I missed anything.

I've been playing with my IACV screw and right now its fully closed and its the lowest idle its been at.

I'll post on SDU and SAF.... I rarely ever get a response from anyone on those forums though.

Really?? I got a ton of info from SDU over the last couple of years...although I haven't posted there for quite some time.

I don't remember the voltage settings for the TPS off hand, but if you run a search on SDU it should lead you to the right place.

Is it working fine now? maybe your injectors maxing out due to the airflow coming from the fmic?

Try buying a brand new O2 sensor and replacing it. It sounds like your car is ecu stuck in a low octane fuel map on the computer. A bad O2 sensor can cause this. Your computer cannot go into a closed loop mode if the sensor is bad.
