Hahaha.
I saw a random raccoon at a parking lot at the mall once.
It didn't even care that a gigantic SUV was coming it's way!
Tards!

Dude, the cats on the other side of my block are savages like that too. They'll wait 'til the last minute to scatter! Did I ever tell you that I accidentally killed one while I was trying to scare another? Hilarious.

They're not real HID's though, they're just H4 bulbs with a "projector" housing. If you want HID's you look for OEM ones from Asian cars.

I got schooled on my HID knowledge tonight haha.

Lol not to thread jack, but any car really. Not sure if the 3 has a halogen projector or an HID setup from the factory, but if you're doing an HID retrofit you don't want to use the HID kits you find on ebay, you want OEM Lexus, OEM Honda, or OEM Nissan projectors. The Lexus RX and LS series cars have ballin' HID/projectors, and s200's have nice units as well.

Razi...awesome seats! I was thinking about getting z33 seats when I was replacing my stockers, but with frequent track use I'm glad I went with a bucket haha.

Yeah, Chris!
These seats definitely feel good, but if you're gonna track it, a bucket would be way better haha.

I might rent a welder for a day so I can modify the rails and stuff at home.
I sort of want to build a trunk brace since I'll have the welder for the whole day.

negative sir.. the ebay HID conversion kits are "real" HID's. i have bought a few of them. i also have an oem set from an audi. the bulb itself cant be told apart from the oem one, other than how it mounts in the headlight itself. also not every car that has HID's from the factory is a projector lens. for instance my grampa's car (a 2009ish) toyota avalon has HID's but it has a diamond housing with no projector. there isnt a distinct "cut off" but the light output is still nice.

the ebay HID's work very well for the money and it seems the bulbs last a long time but the ballasts go out about once a year. BUT i have a friend with a suby and he did a retrofit with some honda ones and has had them for not even a year and both of his ballasts have burned out too.

all in all i would never spend the money on an oem set. if you can get an ebay set for under 35 shipped and replace the kit once a year or so it beats the hell out of paying 250 for an oem set and replacing the ballasts every year.. just my thoughts

Droppin that knowledge bomb.

So far, all the HID sets I've seen for S13s have a pretty non-existant cutoff.
It's sort of why I want the Hella's H4 housings for the pop-ups, they are really bright and have good cutoff.

My friend went HID and just taped cutoffs so they didnt just shine crazy. It looks horrible but works great.

Yeah, HID kits are terrible in the S13 projector housing. A lowered vert got behind me once on the highway and I was about blinded by his ugly blue lights. They're just as bad as lifted trucks.

I would just get some nice bulbs. That will get you the brightness that you want. The best way to get HIDs would be projectors, and they only work well/easy with a silvia front. With the tri-projectors.

The previous owner put on some Sylvania sealed units, so they aren't that bad, but they could be better.

the stock square headlights are actually quite bright.. i have them in my toyota. but there is always room for improvement. a friend of mine with an s13 had the h4 conversion housings from ebay and then put 10000k HID's in them and it was stupid blinding. i put HID's in my old s14 and it actually had somewhat of a cutoff and didnt ever blind people. but those were in stock housings.

razi i agree with you that the hella housings will be a nice upgrade. DO IT!!

^I've never had an issue with nighttime driving in the 240, even with it lowered and the headlights not adjusted to make up for the drop in stance. The stock lights illuminate better than my wife's 96 Saturn and just as good as the old 2002 Stratus I had. I hate the super high temp bulbs (like 10 or 12,000) that people install. They are blinding and look weird because they are such a bright blue. Z33 seats and transmission swap are definitely things I want to swap one day though.

EDIT: Wait, wha..KV, you're a Global Mod!? I didn't even know you were a mod, how long have you been one?

^oh yeah they do. I wear contacts too, and I can tell a difference b/t them and regular glasses at night. Glares/lights are worse with contacts, esp. ridiculously bright headlight.

Thankfully, my Broadway rearview mirror has that anti-glare film on it, so it isn't as bad when they are behind me.
Just need to find a solution for my side view mirrors..

Haha and yeah, KV got mod powers. :iconeek

Razi wrote: Just need to find a solution for my side view mirrors..
the early 90's maxima's mirrors are a blue tint and are the same mirror glass. you can take them and snap them into s13's. also i think they are all heated so make sure you get the switch for them and run the wire to heat them up

^you weirdo :p Moto, so the 89-94 gen 4 Maxima has the same mirrors with a tint..hmm, not sure I should do that though since I have a 20% window tint all around. Might make it too hard to see at night. It's already hard to back up at night bc I can't see anything lol. The only time the stupid bright HIDs bother me is when they are coming towards me in the other lane, the tint keeps the ones behind me in check.

I dropped by a junkyard today!
They had a whole bunch of maximas there, took off the cleanest ones I could find.
:D I'm cleaning them up before I install them.

Woot!
Installed!

I took it off of Maximas that looked like this:

Their side view mirrors look exactly like S13 mirrors.

They snapped on, no problem!

Thanks Moto!
I won't be blinded by other cars now. :D
