Haha, yeah I'm lucky to have a dad that wants to help me with my car.He used to have a 280z before I was born, then he sold it after he had me.

Now he is looking to buy a car to work on for his own.

lol, j/k man. I did something similiar after I installed my stereo. Ask my mom to listen to it, popped in a bass CD, she literally jumped up in her seat when the first bass line hit. Was funny.

Update!

I bought a new clutch, Spec Stage 2 since my stock one was slipping under boost.

Yay!

I jacked up the car and started unbolting everything.

My dad helped me remove the transmission and everything else.Out with the old...

In with the new.

My rear main seal was leaking a little bit so I thought I'd replace it while I was in there.

Cleaned up, and inserted new seal.

The bellhousing was a bit dirty when we got to it, there was also a bit of gunk at the bottom where the oil leaked from the rear main seal.

My dad cleaned it up a lot while I was hunting for a tool to remove our old pilot bushing. We also cleaned up the pivot arm and stuff and installed a new throwout bearing but I'll take a picture once it's all installed.

Still to do:-Install a larger alternator from the Quest, Krazydriver gave me one a few weeks ago.-Replace the stock clutch fork pivot with a stronger one from SPL.-Bypass the clutch dampener and replace the old clutch hose with a stainless one from SPL parts.

Woot!!! I'm excited for this new clutch, I haven't been able to freely go into boost without my clutch slipping.

Also, if some of you can give me ideas...When we were taking out the transmission, a small lump on the bellhousing (Circle'd in the picture below...) prevented us from pulling the transmission out nicely, it kept getting us stuck at the firewall. We ended up unbolting the pressure plate and dropping the transmission down with the clutch, I can't do this in reverse when I install the clutch because I need to keep the clutch aligned while I'm bolting down the pressure plate. We rotated the transmission and everything but the transmission's input shaft kept hitting the pressure plate and we couldn't drop it.

Here is the lump I'm talking about...

So, I'm wondering if anyone has pointers to prevent that lump from installing my transmission.I rotated the transmission clockwise to dodge the part where the starter bolts onto, (Tips thanks to spooled240), and I rotated the transmission here and there but the lump was about 1cm too tall to dodge the firewall.I loosened the motor mounts to try and angle the engine but all it did was raise up the engine and didn't help much.Any pointers?I'm tempted to just cut it in half.

Anyways, thanks for watching!

I tried that but it only seemed to raise the engine straight up. Did you jack it up at the crank pulley?

Hmm maybe I should undo my exhaust, that could be preventing it from tilting backwards.

Try getting a 2x4 piece of wood and jacking up the oil pan where it bolts on near the crank pulley (NOT the sump area bottom lol). I wouldn't jack it up by the pulley and risk bending those rib walls.

Helps me when I do trans drops+installs If it's not tilting back then loosen the motor mounts about 1/4" and thennn it will tilt to your liking.

I tried to jack it up by the tensioner pulley bracket, I probably need to go further out to tilt the engine.

Ugh, I HATED my life when I was trying to put my trans in after the motor was in. I ended up pulling the motor and puting it all in as one peice. I tried rocking the motor but never tried using jack & wood
