i hate radio i didnt even connect mine so i cant help you! as for the ipod, thats weird.....im sure most of them dont do that. its dumb to leave it in there overnight tho unless you have a garage. As for the sound...i agree.....ive gotten to 40 out of 62 on volume...its too loud already lol and the bass is even stronger around 30.....with the jvc deck i had to go max volume to get a good feel for the bass...i prefer reasonable volume with a good feel of bass.

im glad i put in a good word for this deck and others have followed suit and got it because its def a great deck

when i had bought my truck i looked like somebody had taken vice grips to my antenna so i removed and just put a little cap on the whole. i hate the radio anyway.

The Ipod issue is one i have experienced aswell sometimes it wont charge and claims to have less battery than it does but its only cold. i started taking it out of my car everytime i get out and now its always at full charge because i dont accidently leave it on.

You should only have to check the wirre behind the deck to make sure your using the antenna wire instead of the amp remote wire. the other wire should just be a ground so unless its a bad ground, it should be the antenna remot wire.

and your welcome steering wheel controls is definetly the way to go dont wanna have buttons that are just for show.

When you installed your head unit how did you hook the head unit up to the bose amps. Did you just run it off the head unit amp or use the adapter'

how many times is that question going to be asked! there is one wire that needs to be connected to the harness....its a blue wire from your factory cabling and it ties with remote power on then your bose amp is used

i seem to be having trouble with my steering wheel controls right now.

it seems to change function when the vehicle is really warmed up so i believe that the resistors are heating up and are becoming the same value as resistors i used for other functions.

so in short if you are going to install the steering wheel control adapter, use resisitors that will have a decent gap between values, simply because resistance changes with heat.

No... Im not asking that. What I am saying is I know about the amp activation wire. Its blue.... What I am saying is like for example did you hook the connections up from the head unit amp to the bose amps like a regular system in a car without amps.

i connected all speakers to the harness....so all front and rear +/- connections are present, if i were to just do that the speakers wouldnt turn on since it wont allow the internal amp in the headunit to feed them power. This is why the blue remote turn on wire must be connected to the proper turn on wire of the bose system, i hope thats what you mean.

when i had the jvc headunit in i spent 3 days trying to figure out why i got no sound whatsoever from the speakers when everything was connected. it was that damn remote turn on wire to the bose amps

UPDATE: this deck jumped in price in canada from $299 to $499!!! 6 months later, unbelieveable. I absolutely LOVE this deck, no problems, aside from not being able to remove the beep when pressing buttons...thats annoying, but you cant hear it if the music is turned up.

I just wanted to show a better place to put the mic. I found the spot I had it before was a little obstructed by the steering wheel if you like to tilt your seat back. I instead placed it here by removing the black trim piece and popping the mic holder there. Simply fished the wire around the trim piece to the top and hopefully my calls are clearer now (they were already plenty clear, but when theres room for improvement why not)

btw the odometer is my kms since last fill up. im just about to hit 130,000kms on the odo

Half a tank and 276! wow.Haven't seen that since my mom drove the pathy. but I guess thats what happens when young male blood and the 3.5L mix. 240hp and 250lb/ft of tq is just too good to not use.

So the call quality is better? What kind of phone do you use with it?

PS one small difference with the canadian cluster. you see the e-brake symbol under your AT temp light... US clusters do not have a symbol but instead, the word "BRAKE"

the word brake eh...thats ghetto.lol and i get that kind of mileage because its all highway. I drive from brampton to my job in waterloo daily, 170kms a day total, 30kms city. That mileage was aggressive highway driving and A/C on for about 40% of the time...when i drive to windsor i can get closer to 300kms for half a tank sometimes. Im 21 too so i can have a heavy foot as well

My q is amazing on mileage. Ive got brand new iridium NGK plugs, new air filter, new fuel filter, and a very clean throttle body. and some bad 02 sensors for +1year now, and 20 inch wheels. and subs. and my cargo cover, and skates. and that mileage was with another passenger in the car. hahaha loving it

best mileage ever....11.6L/100km. I average 12.5-14L/100km

I havent got a call since and I probably will never know since im never on the other end, but i did it just for good measure. I use a motorola Q9 with it.

I was told last night that it sounds like a high pitch whinning in the background...I dunno!

My best tank ever was a 12.4l/100km. that was 75% highway. It was a great weekend, 4 guys, 4 golf bags, over night bags, few cases of beer, I dont know how I did it.

But anyways, I can't believe they raised the price to $499!!! We lucked out at $299.

Without a color display I don't think I would have dropped half a grand on a deck. At $299 it was most definetly worth it though

Hey man I gotta thank you for all the info on your deck install. I got an '01 Pathfinder and I'm getting the exact same deck as yours installed. I am by no means as proficient as you at installing car audio so I'm having Future Shop do it for me. Was wondering if you had to do any custom "sawing" to get the deck to fit so perfectly. I showed them your video on youtube and they said it looked like you might of done some customizing. It'll save me $$$ if it doesn't need to be done.

Also the adapter that allows the unit to function on a Bose system you said you bought at Crappy Tire correct? Was wondering the cost as FS told me I need to buy 2 of these SVEN 2 converters since they don't have any sven 4 adapters. Was thinking of shopping around to find a cheaper option as these were $120 for the 2. Seems like there should be a cheaper option for adapting the Pioneer deck to the Bose system.

Thanks again for the info and help

How did you installl this system, I know the HU has 4 screws to mount with. I have the Pathfinder 1999 version and
the HU already. Did you have to remove the Bose system or bypass it?

You need to get a $10 wiring harness for nissan (usually at any auto parts place) and take the side brackets from your stock hu, mount them to the pioneer. You also need an antenna converter cable if you listen to fm its like $5. Once your wiring is good just route cables for mic and usb from behind, connect to head unit, slide it in, screw it in, all set. Itll work fine with the bose system.
