when you enter the vehicle it doesnt even have to leave your pocket. Numbers are displayed...caller id when someones calling, you can go through your phone book and dial direct all without taking your phone out. very slick, and conversations go fine, no complaints of echos.
USB.....this i JUST figured out. About 50% of my songs wouldnt be found when i connected a USB drive. I did some research and found that ID3 tags cause it not to be read. If you want i can send you the program to remove tage (very easy to use) just make sure you use it when the songs are on your USB drive...if you do it to YOUR songs on your computer your computer and ipod or wahtever wont be able to determine artist, and info like that.
I got 80% of the songs working...ill figure out whats up soon. very busy lately. I organize my music so that there is folder>folder>songs.....so... as much as i hate ipods, this gives me the exact same interface as them on my pioneer HU.
Interesting on your ID3 problem. My Pioneer loves the ID3 tags and shows all the info when its all filled out.
However my pioneer bluetooth plug-in adapter (not built in to the unit like yours) sucked so much that i sold it, it did not work with my phonebook and theres no point in looking at your cell phone and dialing the number into the stereo. might as well just use the damn phone if you already got it out. And people did complain of the sound quality (i had the mic in the exact same spot as you).
im glad you can use the bluetooth without pulling your phone out your pocket cause thats exactly what i wanted. pimpsh!t!!!
I like USB better than an ipod too, but i hate ipod so you could say im biased.
hey does your stereo faceplate come off?? like for security? (wait do you have that problem in canada??)
