their electric die grinder burnt out on me in about 15 mins, whereas my ones made in china lasted for days of rough abuse and cost about $10. idk about any of their other tools but that's my experience with harbor freight.wynnEZ wrote:Good job especially with the Harbor Freight tools (cheap and somewhat reliable).

I need to get rid of the stock paint ASAP. just dont have the time.
pic #9- the side shot showing the door pull is a very exaggerated example of orange peel. the paint finish gives a 'textured' type reflection. orange peel is most noticeable from a side view with light in the background as in the pic.ca18detgabby wrote:call it noobish........ but wtf are you talking about "orange peel" as in the graining on the paint?

is also a smash deal. I need to find an affordable compressor, but ill probably rent it from home depot.Cone Junky wrote:I spent a little more ($150) on a budget DeVilbliss gun set from Eastwood.com
i agree. your method would have looked muck better and would have been quicker, but i chose to do this cause of a bet me and my dad had. he said the paint would never shine . i proved him wrong. he still wont admit he was wrong, probably cause im like 40 yrs younger than him . plus i like doin work, it keeps my away from being bored. and a few picsi still have to do the bumpersand a few reflectin pics (no wax or clear coat)my schedule just changed and now i have basket ball practice for most of the week.(i hope i make the team) if not ill have more time on the carCone Junky wrote:Looks like it turned out pretty good for the materials used.
My $.02 though- for the amount of work and prep you did, you could have picked up a gallon of PPG and all necassary hardners and thinners for less than $150. But I have been pretty impressed with the rattle cans of the Rustoleum Proffesional.I spent a little more ($150) on a budget DeVilbliss gun set from Eastwood.com and love being able to throw down paint properly

i do work out, its mandatory to tryout 4 the team. i weigh 140 i have a 176 max on bench and i can max out on box squat at about 365. i wish i was taller though. we should have an athletic thread!!diggles240 wrote:i'm only 5'-9"...you just got to hit the weight room and get in there with the trees and bang. seriously though, good luck on the tryout and good work on the paint job .

I found this with google a couple years ago when I painted a car. Just like NICO, the discussions, threads, and related links on there are extremely helpful.I don't remember if it was on the forums or in a link, but I downloaded and printed up a 50-ish page autobody handbook.
