[QUOTE=kamikazestorm420]this is a better picture i think.

i have a 95 s14. i have my relay setup already for wiring. i just want to know which color wires to cut and connect. in this diagram what color wire is the ON and which is the STARTER. so far my relay just makes clicking noises but the car does not start.

why not control it with your bluetooth phone.... you can controll anything you want threw your phone... windows remote start anything that could come to your mind it can b hooked up and it acts like a gps system telling you the exact location of your car at all times....

The problem you (Richter99) mention having, is with the cold start wire. I'll see what I can come up with I think it is black with a green stripe. When the engine and all the components are relatively cool the start wire and the cold start wire must to be energized, other wise it could take cranking forever and not start. I'll look for the diagram and repost.

Everyone please listen to the guys that already suggested incorporating a relay and fusing it, they know as do I that this is common electrical sense. Not merely a suggestion.

I updated the links.

Switch is going strong after almost a full year and an SR and 5spd swap. \o/

ilovesideways: I had a new ignition switch, I didn't want to fork out another $180 for a lock cylinder, and another key for my car. Plus now I have an intricate understanding of the S chasis ignition wiring.

if you want you could just rewire the small starter wire to the starter solinoid and run that to the push button

some crappy s14 i bought last winter came w/ a push start...more trouble than it was worth IMO.

why would you want to turn the key then move ur arm and push a button to start? the s2000 i guess relates to the racing style design so it's kind of excusable but on a 240...i dono. now if it's like the new altima where you keep your keyfob in your pocket and it automatically recognizes you and u can just push it that's cool stuff.

No arm movement. And I've already covered like 3 times why I did it.

as are all push buttons on todays market pretty much....

imho the more electronic nick nacks the more problems your eventually asking for....

i dont care much for all that gadgetry; if you ever need a new key its some serious money (think mercedes)

to OP, looks clean

I want to get two toggle switches...one for the ACC. switch and one for the "ON" switch. No key needed. Get in the car, flip the ACC switch, flip the ON switch, then push the button to start the car...but hide the switches. I got the keyless on my alarm so I wouldn't need to hide the key or worry about someone stealing my car...it'd be like taking off in a helicopter haha.

I just tried to do this and it didn't work. I then reconnected everything back stock and now it won't even crank. Everything except the start position works. Anyone got any ideas?

Anyone have anything I can check before I go at and buy a new ignition switch? Should I even bother?

I had a push start on my 1st gen altima and i'm sure it's about the same kind of work to do it on an S13/S14... I was thinking of doing it but i have to buy another switch since i gave my old switch to my friend...

I used an S2000 push starter switch.. In the switch it has i believe four pins.. You need to use the a computer's floppy disk (A:) power connector (or something similar) which i feel was the easiest thing to fit. BUT the S2000 only needs to use 3 pins out of the four... (ground, ignition, and constant 12v) I know i'm confusing you with the pin and computer stuff without pictures.... But i used 2 relays (one on the ignition and on from battery (or any live wire if you're splicing into another wire)... and this is how it came out

Keep in mind i removed the need for a key AND had to cut my steering wheel lock off in order for this to work. On the other side of the steering wheel by the dash i had installed two toggle switches which would feed the switch (ignition and 12v)... so without the 2 switches up, you can't start the car... AND of course you would need a car alarm because then anyone can just run up in there and pop those two switches on.. and gone in 10 seconds... (not 60)...

Here's another pic from far..
