Why didn't NICO sensor your post? My eyes are bleeding now.

Try some vice grips or maybe your teeth. If that doesn't work, I don't know, I'm sure you can figure something out. At least you know what your problem is...

I can circumvent the system, but I only do it when I'm uber pissed and I'm seriously irritated with this whole situation. There isn't enough room for a vice grip and if there were, I can't generate 120 foot pound of torque with them. Can you?

Seriously, though. All I see is blinding light reflection. What's the issue? Your socket won't fit over the nut or your allen wrench won't fit in the stud?

If it's the latter, the studs need an american allen wrench. not a metric. I think it was like 5/16ths or something weird like that, but I'm horrible at remembering standard tool sizes. Been working on imports too long.

Also, with using the L shaped allen keys, I found I couldn't get the studs to seat all the way with just my bare man hands. I had to use a pair of vise grips attached to the stubby end of the allen key and use that to give me some extra leverage to get the stud down in the hole.

EDIT: I forgot to ask if you cleaned the threads up on the block. I had to clean them up using an old head bolt with a flattened side or else I couldn't get the studs in all the way. There was too much junk from the hot tanking process left on the threads.

Double EDIT: Fuggin fixed!

LOL. Nico owned that URL but I got it.

Allen won't fit the stud, although my issue isn't tightening the stud, it's loosening it. The allen I have is 10 MM and it fits the other studs fine, I already removed the first stud with it and it fits the others? I dunno I'll go get the 5/16th's though .

FSM says 10mm and it's still definitely a no-go.

Got it out. The metric measurement is 3/8ths. Note that 3/8th's is a tighter fit than 10mm soit's likely that the allen will get stuck in the headbolt as mine did. Oh well. Lifetime tool warranty FTW.

It's almost impossible to tell what that is because of your horrible photograpisms. Looks like a headstud?

So Ryon, it's been about a month. You get the head off yet? I got mine off last week without incident. How about an update or two, yo?

The head has been off Scoot.

I'm ordering parts now. My goals are revised a bit though. 500whp is a bit much. I'd be happy with 425 wheel on a GT3071R.

You can off a .64 if you know what you're doing

.86 are laggy junk IMO. I hate they way the come into boost. Anything past a .64 2871r is useless, with topmount being the way to go.

You're not getting any poon once the slore sees the Nissan badge on the front. All they know is Mustang and Corvette badging.

Seriously? If you could suggest a setup that could get there I'd appreciate it.

Crank the boost another 2-4 psi and you're there. Made 410 without any correction.

Cody, I thought you were pretty much at the limit (400whp) with your set-up. If not, then I'm definitely copying your set-up if I ever get the money.

UPDATE 05/06/08:

We've given up on Ryon's **** build. We're totally taking the car apart and going a completely different route. Here's a little sneak peak of what we started on last night:
