I got my ARP head studs today....got them installed and torqued down along with a Felpro hg. Then i started to install the timing set and cams. Ended up snapping one of the cam journal bolts ( with less than 8ft/lbs) and i didn't have another to replace it, so......guess i'll be heading to the hardware store in the morning and buy enough to replace them all. I really wanted to get this thing together tonight but ....it's always something.

The bolt that broke is right behind the cam sprocket.

Extracting broken bolts sucks!...but it finally came out. I was ready to take a hammer to it. After that, everything else went pretty smooth. Anyway... intercooler piping, an exhaust, and a nice big box from JGS should be here anytime, so the next update should be a little more interesting. Pix now.....

p/s delete bracket ftw

The parts i used were from a rear-ended 240 sitting in a junk yard. It took me about 2 weeks just to find one, and i had to drive 1.5hrs to get it.You can also get them here:

It's been a while since i have posted anything....but since then I've converted the car to obd1 and added a JGS log manifold, wastegate, oil feed and return lines, wg dump pipe, down pipe, and dropped the stock exhaust. Now, gotta find a good turbo. :naughty:

I havent even tried to start it yet. I dont get to work on it much. All I have left to do is make a ground for the starter. When you think you will be done?

I've been asking myself that same question. Money has been tight the past couple months so it's just been sitting idle. Still need injectors, turbo, get the ecu tuned, and a clutch. But i need tires first....looks like i'm running slicks.

Well what can i say? Its been over 5 years since i have posted anything here. What happened you ask? Well, life...
During that time, i've divorced, moved to a new city, changed careers, bought a Subaru...the list goes on. As a result, the project took a back seat to everything else. Right before moving, i threw the motor in the car but had no time to get it running. Also, the turbo parts were sold to fund moving and other expenses.
Fast forward to today... Shes dirty, needs paint, she starts and drives, but I have yet to fully break in the motor. Hopefully now i can continue where i left off.

Sorry to hear about the 'troubling' past, but it's good to see that the project is still going.
Good luck man and hang in there.

This is what happens when you end up with a big roll of carbon fiber vinyl and are bored on a Sunday afternoon. One day i will replace them with real cf, but for now this will do.

Old and busted...
