Not at all, the way it is now, the turbo is placed at a nice exhaust flow convergance spot.Chezedik wrote:Would there be any significant advantage?
No, and it'd be significantly more difficult.Chezedik wrote:Would there be any significant advantage?
how did you detect minor detonation?Bwana wrote:Virtually nothing. Initially I pulled a bunch of timing (with the distributor) and then started turning it back up until I got minor detonation. Then I backed it off a couple degrees. Not scientific, but it works fine.

Presumably yes, it is. Why else would I use it? Other than the fact that it was on the first page when I google imaged it...sil80drifter wrote:Is that a HOT chick's ear?!
When I first put the turbo on I backed the timing out a good 7*, then started advancing it a bit, drive it, advance it a bit, drive it until I started to sense detonation, then I backed it out about 2*.Chezedik wrote:So, in effect you advanced timing on boost? Brave soul, but I bet it feels pretty good.
I don't actually know. When I went to check, I discovered that my Craftsman timing light has somehow died on me. Time to make a run to Sears I guess...Chezedik wrote:So where are you now?
