Wow, seeing my car next to Keegan's brought back memories.

What was I thinking with those weak a** wheels.

Yes, remember the time when running without a fuel pump housing gasket was an ok idea by keegan? Lol we all change man, looking back your ignorance is laughable sometimes as is mine, aka domestic cars...

I remember hearing some rumors about paint, but I'll have to wait and see. I just want ur car to be on the road this summer bc mine will be and we have to roll out yo.

Is there an estimated "completion" date on this new ride?

My little dreary eyes cant stand looking at an illuminated computer monitor any longer in the hopes of pure amazement from one of my favorite NICO-ers and getting all excited whenever this sexy thread is bumped up but only to get shut down in teasingly disappointment bc Pennsylvanians like to reminisce via interweb by posting pics of what they thought was so hip, cool and trendy oh so many years ago...

the end.

So I re-read this thread.

You're saying this is a grip car, but you're doing modified knuckles?

IF that is the case, I'd really recommend ditching the knuckles. Daily driving those things is a real headache. It'll mess with your steering big time.

Sadly I don't have any first hand experience with them, but I'd be concerned about the toe you'll be running. Are people even able to run 0 toe with these knuckles? If they are running 0 toe are they able to do it with oem style outer tie rods?

The little bit of reading I've done on the knuckles everyone stated it wasn't a good idea for a car that sees the street.

If you're serious about having a real grip car, I'd simplfy your knuckle setup if I were you. I'm not you and it's also not my car.

Main problem with modified cars is, most are over modified, and the fun aspect is ruined. If the car isn't fun to drive, it's worthless. These knuckles may ruin the fun aspect, on the street atleast.

with my s14 moog OEM style outers, ikeya formula inners, i should be ok for alignment. i dont understand why i WOULDNT be able to hit 0 toe. the reason i want the knuckles is not for the maximum angle, but rather the responsiveness/flickability. the car will most likely NOT see any tracks, of any variety, as touge style runs/street/meets are more my thing, as fanboy as that sounds. i have no motor mods to date (sr obviously not in the car yet) so i need EVERY ounce of response i can get, as my local competition is mostly evo's, subies, and the like. i like being the underdog, but having those guys go bug-eyed as they see me eat corners alive.

that said, i genuinely appreciate the insight, as i have not heard that about the knuckles. again, i look to you with high regard because i know you put in the research time/money into quality items. we will see how this all pans out. i LOVE having things noone has even heard of, so the rarity is a plus for me too. if the knuckles are unbearable for street, ill sell em. i have another OEM set sitting on the car now.

i also love overkill. thats part of the "fun" for me. im excited to try these things out, with the complimentary mods i have.

and for all of you who are awaiting the unveiling, just be patient, the last of the pieces are falling into place.... and i have all weekend to put stuff together. probably wont be done, but i SHOULD have some nicer pics of my progress to share.

carry on

Hey, hey Keegan. FINISH YOUR CAAAAAAAAAAAAR. I'm gonna take all of your s*** and finish it for you. I look forward to thursday. Maybe we can give some teaser pics? Hahahahaha.

Seriously, though, it'll be cool to have my hatch carry on the simplicity that was your coupe. It's gonna be a good summer, dude.

Lookis, you already guessed the wheels... Until Keegan goes super baller status. Lets see, we are taking a road trip thursday to pick up the aero, sadly, there will be no DMax, he's not even sure what he wants. Whatever he likes, I guess.

Updates:Keegan did work on the car!!!!!!!!It was hot as balls so he got some nice sunburn but some progress was made. All of the front is done except the brake lines. I don't have any pictures of it done, so don't get your hopes up. Needless to say, a sledge hammer is needed to fit the wheels with the knuckles.

Here's the sadness. RIP PSM parts.

Here's the new subframe, with new bushings with re-manned steering rack.

PS- To the guy who said we're going to have a NJ vs PA low competition, I'll win. (On 17s even)

Wohoo an update!

Indeed we'll be enjoying the f*** out of this summer! Too bad u guys don't have mopeds... Riding in sandals w/o a helmet legally thru the summer breeze is probably the most relaxing form of motoring one can experience other than boating.

+1 for good times, can't wait to see this!

nah dude, i searched my a** off for 3 weeks tryin to find one... so i settled for a standard one...

then two days after mine arrives, i find 3 in stock in cali... FML.

but the knuckles are to quicken the response anyway... so i should be ok...

picked up a fresh rear subby tonight... refinish/build of that starts later today. maybe get my a** in gear to finish this up.

1) I've got a pair of balls.2) I don't live anywhere near Philly. City driving isn't a problem.

Either way, I look forward to chilling with some other low cars in the area, hahah.

Keegan, is your car done? no.

same price pretty much as a standard one, lookis. hence the FML.

well the lady just called... and its lookin like rain. so the new subframe (thanks didderson) will sit outside today and get a shower (aka lazy way to clean the dirt off)... and i will get my daily lady time in. i consider this to be a win/win.
