This is going to be my first and last time saying this. You all need to leave this post immediately. Do you not realize that when you slander a member of the U.S. Army, you are slandering the name of the U.S. Army as an entity. Lamar Horton may have done wrong, but sometimes you need to give someone the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure that you want your parts, and I am sure that he is going to give your parts or return your money. But I am telling you it is not wise to threaten someone, especially a member of the U.S. Armed Forces. What you fail to realize is that if anything were to happen, you have incriminated yourself. I am telling you all for your own sake. Leave the issue alone, and let the original proprietor and the customer settle their issue. Please do not let me have to come back onto this post again with word that you are causing problems for one of our soldiers. You should be happy, proud, and grateful that this young man has fought for any of you. When you enlist in the U.S. Army, we teach our soldiers to be men/women of their word. I can guarantee you that Lamar is a man of his word. Like I said before, please do not let me have to come back on this post again. If so, the next time will be more drastic measures, especially for the man with the user name Ace2Cool. Speaking of which you have incriminated your friend that is in the service because he is not allowed to give out information on anyone enlisted int he service, that is confidential information. More so, being Lamar is not under his command. If I were you, I would watch where you step. Thank you very much, have a great day, and please for your own good, heed my warning.

And as far as this goes, how about Lamar doesn't get HIMSELF into anything he can't get himself out of, cupcake? He's the one that's done something stupid. All I've done is access information that almost everyone in the world has access to and compile it in one location. I see no problem with that. And as far as reporting a military member as doing wrong, that's actually something the military considers as good. I'd actually be in trouble if I DIDN'T report this, technically.
Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 78: Accessory after the fact
“Any person subject to this chapter who, knowing that an offense punishable by this chapter has been committed, receives, comforts, or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial, or punishment shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
Which can also be subjected to Article 92: Failure to obey order or regulation
“Any person subject to this chapter who—
(1) violates or fails to obey any lawful general order or regulation;
(2) having knowledge of any other lawful order issued by a member of the armed forces, which it is his duty to obey, fails to obey the order; or
(3) is derelict in the performance of his duties; shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”
See? I get in trouble if I don't report this. All members of the military service have explicit orders to report any and all offenses committed by other military members. So, if you don't know the rules, GTFO. Tell Lamar to come in here and try explaining. I hope he has fun with his restriction and reduction in rank.
I'm sure COL Alfred A. Pantano, Jr., District Commander of Jacksonville district of the Army Corps of engineers is going to be ecstatic to hear that one of his guys is ripping people off on the internet.
I'm not scared, if that's what you were going for, "First Sergeant."
I reiterate, there is no slander going on here, there are only facts. Morgan still does not have his parts he paid for almost a month and a half ago. I have done nothing wrong. I have only compiled public information (that Specialist Horton put out on the internet himself) into one place. I'm sure my JAG officer would see it the same way. If you want to go, I'm game. E-4 vs. E-8? Sounds like fun. I've got UCMJ citations. What do you have?
Oh, and like Ozzie said, nice double IP address. So either you are having some sort of fraternization with Specialist Horton (by creating an account and posting from his "brother's" house), or you're just full of sh*t. My money is on the latter. Let's take a look at Army Regulation 600-20 anyways.
Army Reg 600-20 wrote:Prohibited Relationships
Relationships between soldiers of different rank are prohibited if they:
(1) Compromise, or appear to compromise, the integrity of supervisory authority or the chain of command.
(2) Cause actual or perceived partiality or unfairness.
(3) Involve, or appear to involve, the improper use of rank or position for personal gain.
(4) Are, or are perceived to be, exploitative or coercive in nature.
(5) Create an actual or clearly predictable adverse impact on discipline, authority, morale, or the ability of the command to accomplish its mission.
Seems like #2, #4, and #5 could all apply in this situation.
Partiality is perceived by myself, for defending someone who has brought something upon themselves by scamming another former servicemember out of money.
Exploitative? Seems like he could be using your rank to "get off the hook" and save some face. Not every day an E-8 steps into an online forum to back up an E-4.
Adverse impact on discipline? When a higher-up steps in to fight for someone who has broken the law, that sends a message to the subordinate that this act is A-OK, and the subordinate will continue committing similar acts, knowing that he/she can get away with it. Sounds like a breakdown in discipline to me. Don't talk to me about "fighting for our country," either. I know just as well what it takes to sign your name on that piece of paper at MEPS. Not to mention my Boot Camp was actually a Boot Camp. We didn't get to keep our cell phones and call home on the weekends.
My fight is not with you, First Sergeant. It is with Specialist Horton. I will not leave this thread alone, as nothing here has broken any UCMJ articles, nor has it violated anyone's privacy. (also covered in the UCMJ.)
