I know! The whole situation is just... odd. There are a lot of aspects that are legit and a few that make you wanna say "Whaaa?" and scratch the noodle. Maybe he's just an odd fella lol.

EDIT: Like why would he string me along and accept my friend request on fb and still tell me that he's shipping the items when he already has my money? If I were gonna scam someone... as soon as I received the money, I'd be out like the fat kid in dodge ball and never look back!

I think what happened was, that since you sent him a money order he thought there was no way you could mess with him through paypal if he didnt send the items, and tried to pull a fast one on you, then saw this thread and said "FCKU ME" and decided to ship your stuff. We had a similar situation when I was on the Audi forum but it was on a major scale cuz this guy's thread was an Audi TT part out... it was on vwvortex, it was crazy, paypal cancelled his account and refunded everybody but I'm pretty sure he's being chased after, lol. He did send out the first few smaller items, I guess to gain trust from the forum users but I guess once he started getting big money he just jetted... we were thinking that maybe he didnt even have most of the parts he was selling, basically a POS.

Some of my favorite threads on Nico are about scammers getting nailed like this.

Blanco, that might be it... who knows. I hope, for his sake, he is legit... albeit, forgetful! I really hate scammers.

Ace, no tracking info yet, but I'm giving this guy till Tuesday next week... and if my parts aren't on my door step, he will get crushed! I found out his unit info. One phone call and I can have his 1SG and CPT smoke the dog $hit outta him till he pisses blood and then he's off to Leavenworth with an Article 15 and no rank. How are you gonna just f*ck a brother in arms in the A$$ and not even have the decency to give him a reach around??? lol. I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt until Tuesday just for the fact that he is military.

Yep. Why do you think this thread is this long? Cause I'm taking special interest in it.

After Tuesday, this f*cker's life is over. Oh, and guys, the weekend at 3 in the morning is a great time to serenade our buddy Lamar Horton.
Just as a reminder:

Have fun, ladies!

What do you say if he actually answers the phone, instead of letting it go to voicemail?

Yeah, we confirmed that the scumbag is in Florida at this point.

I'm sure the Army and his chain of command would love to know about this:
LamarZ32's Twitter wrote:@RARE_FORM_ go for a walk or smoke a blunt

@LamarZ32 i can't smokeee.. iam in the military =/

@RARE_FORM_ me too and i smoke what branch are you in

@LamarZ32 the navy..hbu ?

@RARE_FORM_ army jst got home from iraq like 3 months ago
Hm, admitting to smoking illegal substances on a public social network that EVERYONE has access to? Doesn't seem like a wise idea, especially considering the Army Forensic Labs now have the ability to test material items from your home (uniforms, clothing, ect.) for Spice and obviously can piss test you for everything else....

Lamar is not a scammer, he isn't like that. It is not likely of him to do something like this. However, I don't know why he hasn't delivered your parts. So I will call him for you and talk to him. And yes Lamar is in the military. He's not deployed but he goes to weekend training and is trying to work out some of his college stuff. But again I will call him for you.

So, someone joins up, and their first post is about obvious scammer, not being a scammer.
He can post on twitter 5 times an hour, but doesn't have time to get ALREADY PAID FOR parts sent out?
I totally trust you newb.
I totally believe you will call him too.
Ace, pull the trigger on this. End it.

With all due respect, I'd think that I should know my brother's characteristics. Trust me, he's not like that. My mother spoke with him and he'll have the parts to the rightful owner. Also, I am begging you to not do anything stupid. Don't get urself into something that you can't get urself out of. IJS

Discussion is over when the parts turn up to the rightful owner.
You don't have the power to stop the discussion.
Your brother is gutless, because surely you would have called him by now, and he would be
1: In here telling us how the situation is being fixed
2: Doing everything in his power to make it right, RIGHT now.
3: Not letting his brother fight his battles, while he hides (unconvincingly).

If you brother is such a great guy, then why don't YOU refund the amount of money outstanding to the buyer (out of your own pocket).... and then we will organise to get it back to you when the parts turn up.
I mean, your brother wouldn't screw anyone, especially his own brother, right?

And as far as this goes, how about Lamar doesn't get HIMSELF into anything he can't get himself out of, cupcake? He's the one that's done something stupid. All I've done is access information that almost everyone in the world has access to and compile it in one location. I see no problem with that. And as far as reporting a military member as doing wrong, that's actually something the military considers as good. I'd actually be in trouble if I DIDN'T report this, technically.

Uniform Code of Military Justice, Article 78: Accessory after the fact

“Any person subject to this chapter who, knowing that an offense punishable by this chapter has been committed, receives, comforts, or assists the offender in order to hinder or prevent his apprehension, trial, or punishment shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

Which can also be subjected to Article 92: Failure to obey order or regulation

“Any person subject to this chapter who—

(1) violates or fails to obey any lawful general order or regulation;

(2) having knowledge of any other lawful order issued by a member of the armed forces, which it is his duty to obey, fails to obey the order; or

(3) is derelict in the performance of his duties; shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

See? I get in trouble if I don't report this. All members of the military service have explicit orders to report any and all offenses committed by other military members. So, if you don't know the rules, GTFO. Tell Lamar to come in here and try explaining. I hope he has fun with his restriction and reduction in rank.

I'm sure COL Alfred A. Pantano, Jr., District Commander of Jacksonville district of the Army Corps of engineers is going to be ecstatic to hear that one of his guys is ripping people off on the internet.

Ok, so here is the updated info so far:

As most of you know... This guy's deadline has passed and it's now Wednesday 04 May 2011. Parts have not shown up yet and no tracking number was supplied. Out of sheer generosity (and possible stupidity) I have sent these emails over Facebook. I am allowing him another week to comply because I failed to notify him directly of said deadline. I was hoping he would do the right thing and send me my property without needing a reminder or a deadline. This is what was said:

Sent by Morgan (me) on 04 May 2011 @ approx. 0830:

"So dude, It's been over a week since you said you shipped my parts out. I still haven't received a tracking number from you and the parts aren't here. Dude I know snail mail doesn't take this long. If you are trying to scam me and take my money... there are a lot of people interested in this case as I have posted about this issue on NICO. Many, of which, are military. If you decide to f*ck over another military guy... I don't think your 1SG or company CMDR will be too happy to hear about all this. I know what unit you are in and it would only take one phone call to make your life a living hell. Please don't make me be the d*ck head NCO I used to be. Please respond with some sort of info on this. I see posts from you on here that say $hit like "be true to the world, etc..." and so you seem legit... but man, you are brewing some doubt."

Sent by Lamar on 04 May 2011 @ approx. 0930:

"i am not scamming you i swear to god i got the package its in the back of my z im going to send it to you i dont have my z its at my frieds house with a blown head gasket i swear im not trying to screw u over or anything like that im going to send you the bovs"

Sent by Morgan (me) on 04 May 2011 @ approx. 1530:

"Ok... fair enough. If I don't see a real tracking number within the next 3 days... and then if I don't see the BOV's in my hands within the next business week from today (Wednesday 04 May 2011 to Friday 13 May 2011) I, along with a few other people, will call your entire chain of command and inform them of your intentions. Do what you must to retrieve them from the back of your Z and ship them out. I really don't want to be a d*ck and involve your leadership... possibly destroying your Army career, Specialist. I will if I have to though seeing as how you have lied to me once already about shipping my items that I legitimately bought from you. Do the right thing, Specialist, and there will be no issues. Write me back within the next 3 days with a real tracking number."

As you can see, he has lied to me about shipping them over a week ago. His intentions are clear... he was planning on scamming me. I believe in second chances though, I caught him in a lie and now have everyone ready to pounce. I still have faith in this guy (unbelievably!) and if it stops him from scamming anyone else... everyone's efforts will be worth it. I know some of you on here are going to think that I am being too soft and he's just dragging it out for whatever reason, but I want my damn parts!! As a soldier in the U.S. Army... he really should know better. It's about ethics and owning up to your mistakes.

SilviaS15Freak, you have to see that it looks super fishy if you just created an account here on NICO for the purpose of defending your brother... If he even is your brother. Anyone in the world could sign up and defend another person to further a scam or whatnot. Get him in here to explain his actions or I don't care. And no, don't just sign in using his info. Is truth and honesty really that difficult? This is one of the many reasons I no longer care much about the Human race... we are all going to kill each other over stupid crap like this eventually. South Park had it right when they portrayed the Earth as just one huge reality TV show! :tisk:

The only thing that looks remotely legit about SilviaS15freak is that he's not posting from the same ip address as Lamar.

Lamar, you have officially worn out your welcome as far as I'm concerned. This thread will stay open on here, and anyone who googles your username will find out about this. Good luck selling anything from now on. Also, I'm not going to allow any more sales from you in any classifieds on this site. If you even try, you're banned.

Morgan, keep me informed on the situation. As soon as you've had enough, let me know when to pull the trigger. Honestly, you're being far more generous than me. This guy is pulling out all the stops.

"My (insert relation to guy here) is legit, he's not scamming you"

"Oh, yeah, I'm gonna ship them soon, I'll let you have the tracking number"

"Money order is easier for me"

"I don't have the parts in my posession, but I do still have them. I'm shipping them tomorrow"

All the tricks in the book, IMO.

Look, I know that this looks bad. Hell, if I was in this situation I would feel the same way you feel. I'm not trying to start any problems. I am just telling you what Lamar told me. I don't have any problems with anyone. As far as I'm concerned, anyone who has the same passion as cars that I have are cool with me. All I can say is if Lamar doesn't send you the parts, do what you gotta do.

We've already sent him multiple links to this on Twitter, Facebook, ect.

Guy isn't coming in here to defend himself, and his brother is stepping up to the plate for him, since he doesn't have the balls to come say he f*cked up. Sounds like a typical scammer-douche to me. Every move this guy has made, I've seen it before. Morgan is just a little more forgiving than me. He would have already gone to NJP if it were my $600 or however so much on the line.

But don't assume all Army guys are douchebags. There's always a bad apple in every bunch, and the Army just does less to keep it from being publicized. The Navy is almost as bad, but we do A LOT to keep stuff in-house. Marine Corps as well. Air Force, well, no one really cares about them, so they can easily be overlooked.

No not assuming all are bad, dont get me wrong. If it were like $25, Id just call him an Ahole and move on with it. But $5/600, I'd be pissed too but I wouldnt really know how to dig for info about somebody, and how to get my money back. Thank you for being a Nico big brother lol.

Thank you for being reasonable and cool, man, I appreciate it.

Everyone else, it's only a matter of $200 for some HKS BOVs. It's really not about the money or parts anymore... It's about someone doing the right thing and coming forward when he f*cked up. If he comes through, I will have all the respect for him because it's a lot harder to do something right when you've been caught doing it wrong. I will let everyone know what goes down next Friday. Either he comes through and all is good... or he doesn't and things will go from there.

Pay close attention:

This is going to be my first and last time saying this. You all need to leave this post immediately. Do you not realize that when you slander a member of the U.S. Army, you are slandering the name of the U.S. Army as an entity. Lamar Horton may have done wrong, but sometimes you need to give someone the benefit of the doubt. I'm sure that you want your parts, and I am sure that he is going to give your parts or return your money. But I am telling you it is not wise to threaten someone, especially a member of the U.S. Armed Forces. What you fail to realize is that if anything were to happen, you have incriminated yourself. I am telling you all for your own sake. Leave the issue alone, and let the original proprietor and the customer settle their issue. Please do not let me have to come back onto this post again with word that you are causing problems for one of our soldiers. You should be happy, proud, and grateful that this young man has fought for any of you. When you enlist in the U.S. Army, we teach our soldiers to be men/women of their word. I can guarantee you that Lamar is a man of his word. Like I said before, please do not let me have to come back on this post again. If so, the next time will be more drastic measures, especially for the man with the user name Ace2Cool. Speaking of which you have incriminated your friend that is in the service because he is not allowed to give out information on anyone enlisted int he service, that is confidential information. More so, being Lamar is not under his command. If I were you, I would watch where you step. Thank you very much, have a great day, and please for your own good, heed my warning.
